THE GREAT CAP EXCHAINGE
« on: Thu, 11 July 2013, 12:19:37 »
so im gonna kick this off

i will send a cap of my choosing to the first person to reply to this thread, once the person receives it, they will send a cap of their choice to the person who joins up after them and so on

i will do as much of the admin work for people as possible

just sign up below

first joiner gets a cap sent from me tomorrow

like to keep it for people with a post count over 60, and should the chain get broken, i will start it again by sending another cap to the next in line

just post a pic of the cap you get, post it, and get the next cap off

thanks

bunny

guys itll be in order of who signs up after you, so if you dont wanna send to someone who may not be conus, probably best not to sign up, i dont mean this in a negative way, its just not at all fair to be rearranging people or leaving people out, soon enough it will be people wanting to go after certain people and cherry picking slots, and really isnt in the spirit of what im doing here

heres the thing, im not gonna be getting a cap from anyone, im cool with that, i want to start this off,but i can sit here and say, ill start but uk only, and it never goes anywhere etc, i understand it costs a couple extra bucks to send international, if that is such a huge burden financially to anyone that wants to participate ill cover it, but its really not fair to pick and choose who gets sent what etc, and to inevitably leave people out

gah, this was meant to be fun and here i am moaning already

i really do understand why people say it, but i think what its gonna have to come down to is people either join or dont, the person you get given is who you get, if you dont want to send to that person, you can back out before receiving your cap, but cant then rejoin just so you can get put in a different order

i am wording myself terribly but what im trying to get at is i want it fair for everyone

I used to not want to ship internationally but then I shipped 3 things to Hong Kong and it was so painless I don't even care anymore. If you ship in a bubble mailer it's something like $2 more via USPS to go international.

No worries.  I get what you're aiming for.  I was just thinking of some ideas that would be costly to send internationally and that's why I asked.  I'll do some of my other ideas instead.

Thanks for organizing this Bunny!

heres the thing, im not gonna be getting a cap from anyone

Says the guy with a function row of bunny caps that he got as a surprise :p

Not to mention that other cap I sent ya!! ;)

From the USA you should be able to get away with about $10-12 shipping to most anywhere if it's just a keycap or two with no tracking or any other frills. It just might take a little while to get there.

Last thing I sent to South Korea got there in one week but I sent it priority which costs a little more.

International shipping is actually pretty cool.....but once you get over a few ounces the prices starts going up fairly quickly!

I'd say. USPS shipping through CONUS is maybe $3 - $4. Int'l was maybe $8 or so for a bubble mailer and $12 for a small box via USPS to HK.

Well the keycaps I've sent were all in boxes with lots of packaging so far....but I'm pretty sure the cheapest was around $10 and was only about 4oz in weight so I'm not sure how it could be done any better?

My latest international package weighs 13oz and the cheapest shipping was $15 :P

The only box I sent was a full TKL kit w/ lots of bubble wrap. Forgot the weight, but it wasn't too bad to ship it. Anywho, we're getting off track. I don't forsee anyone trying to ship full keysets internationally haha.

yeah ill be sending mine tomorrow, so its not everyone sending at once, it goes in order, i send to one person, when they get it, they post a pic of what they get, then send there cap off to the next person, once that person gets it, post a pic and so on and so on, so you dont send anything until you receive something

I'd suggest just posting the list in the OP at some point in time and we can just PM the next person in the list to get their address. Seems pretty simple and keeps you from having to babysit.  :p
