JUST missed the last one by mere seconds, woke up and checked the thread and the thread locked just as I went to post!

Same, shot out of bed only to get the thread locked message when I clicked reply :(

Congrats Cooldiscretion.

That's the worst.  It's happened to me like 8 times.  The quick reply will be open, but when I go to use it  I get the locked thread pop up.

Oh wow, thanks CommonCurt. Atlas turns on quick reply, feels like a tool for not having it on this whole time....

Don't worry the dedication has to pay off and there is a lot of Clackvent to go  ;)

I find that to be the most frustrating. Missing it completely or posting without winning are just fine with me, but that locked thread response is really maddening.

It's true thread locked is the worst, missing it entirely or not winning in the draw is a lot easier to accept for some reason :)

I missed out on one drawing by typing in the quick reply box, then instead of hitting post, I clicked the orange reply button. Man, was I pissed off at myself for something so stupid. The excitement really got the best of me.

I think it's all of these things that add to the fun though.

Missing most of the sales and not winning anything in the few I have been able to enter is not my idea of fun :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

But rowdy, you are always around, how have you missed most of the sales?... You got to admit it's at least exciting :)

I don't understand either. I thought you might have a better timezone than bueller's and mine. Or maybe you are not as crazy as us. Ha ha ha ha.

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Go here and click on "notify" at the top: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=66997.0

I'd also recommend installing tapatalk if you haven't so it sends notification to your phone as well. You can also install Push Bullet, turn on Chrome Notifications for PB & select Tapatalk - now you get notifications in your browser as well!
