This thread is something else!

Hope now clack can get some rest and hopefully get better of what ever was wrong! Congrats to all those who won!

+1 hoping CC can now rest and recuperate.

And I still sincerely hope that the pressure of Radnelac was not a contributing factor to his indisposition!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I don't know.  On one hand if he's really broken he deserves it, but on the other he's saying he'll send last night's Clacks out within a week so is he really bad or is it all a game to toy with our emotions?

Then again perhaps making some of the worlds most sought after caps isn't very hard physically and because he's off work sick he has plenty of time to do it...

I'm leaning towards yes but unless my first Clackvent win is on it's way silently I don't have his address.  Chocolate will last better in a PO box than flowers?  Though what if he had a heart attack, then we should keep it healthy... :-\

Man I am tired. With work and a UK timezone getting in on any of these clack sales has been a pain. Think I would have preferred a brocap style sale for that one off feeling of disappointment instead of many. Plus is has brought to my attention the poor response rate in email notifications one gets when a thread is updated. Sometimes I would get an email and jump straight on the thread and WHOOOOP have time to post, others I would check the thread and see that the reply tag was there four hours ago.
I was very lucky last night to get in on the first sale opening since the makers illness am still waiting in some type of hope that I may get message for my first clack. If not a future sale it will have to be as the reselling price is CRAZY (I know that they look rad but charging an extra 150 to 200 $ is just shameful)

It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Someone needs to step up and organise it.

I would but I'm a) new (so wouldn't expect to be trusted) and b) overseas - we wouldn't want to waste half the collection on shipping charges :))

Noooooooo, I missed all the excitement yesterday!!   :'(   I was able to try for the first sale and got denied by the post-reply-lock, then my phone died...  :(

I'm not fussed about missing the Clacks, I just wanted to see the big final sale reveal in real-time.  :P

Congrats to all those that got in yesterday!  Looks like we had quite a few newcomers, that's awesome.  :)

And hehe, thanks for the concern, but I won two already (1 as HoffmanClackster, 1 as HoffmanMyster).  ;)

WHERE WERE YOU HOFF?!

He won one under his alt.

Congrats everyone! Was a good event!

Where are you Hoff??

Missed the Orgy though....  :( :( :(  Maybe we can have our own orgy?  With blackjack and hookers?

Your place? Btw that brew haus that I mentioned to you before has a disco place in the back room so we can totally have an orgy there as the environment would so totally fit.

What an action packed day yesterday was for the clack therapy thread.  I only just now finally got caught up.  And of course, Mr. Clack so generous. :)

I'm glad to see so many people win on the final day.  Especially all the people that won their first clack.  Congrats to all those people and everyone that won throughout the last two months of crazy sales. This has definitely been fun. Let's hope Clack continues to get better and this happens again at some point soon.

and if you've ever talked to the other artisans, getting one good one for every 10-20 you make is lucky

If you get one good one for every 10-20 you make, you're ****ing up big time.  Once you get the technique down, if you have a higher than 10% failure or "unacceptable" rate, you've done something wrong.

Congrats to the many winners tonight! Almost wish I hadn't won earlier so I could get a 65 rather than a 50 but still very happy none the less :D Glad to hear clackman is alive and clicking.
Not to mention I could have about 40 hours of my life back and save gigs of mobile data hahah. But I'm happy non the less. It was fun. A $50 clack is better than a kick in the arse with a frozen boot. But it does sting a little knowing that I put in a lot of time and effort toward winning a clack and some people who barely tried get a better one with little to no work at all. THERAPY!!

I get that. I'm just assuming at least some of the final sale participants were either first time Clackventers or casual Clackvent players and had a few hours of back to back sales and ample notification time on the final sale to get in. And on the flip side there were others like me who refreshed their phones hundreds of times every day and got lucky enough to be drawn for a $50 clack. I also recognize that some of these final sales participants likely put in a hell of a lot more time than me and luck just wasn't on their side. For those few, I am happy. For the first time Clackventers who won, I am mad jealous! Not bitter or mad, just jelly.

now that clackvent is over....do some people want to give up their 'tricks'?

i'm not sure this applies to everyone, but i noticed that the first page of clackvent loaded up significantly faster than the newest page.  anyone else notice the same?

What do you mean? If server is loaded, then all pages load at the same speed.

@synjin - I'll go out on a limb here and suggest that YoungMichael88 is talking about people like savviness (1 post in how long?!) chemisery (only got in 4 times, including last night) and audukent (only participated yesterday) - I picked these as the first three names I didn't recognise and I was right about all of them, but who knows how many more were just as undeserving.

If I only got a $50 and these guys got a $65 I wouldn't be impressed either, but if anyone who was 0/30+, as you were, got a $100 that would have been well deserved.

No one deserves anything.  Will it suck if the people who didn't really try to get in and only entered that last one get something more awesome than those people who worked at it and got $50 clacks (like my two I got, one that I gave away Octopink to buy)?  Yes, it absolutely will suck.  That said, it's not unfair since no one deserves anything.

While I'm not a religious person, I do think that the lesson from Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard is something that is applicable here, even if it is a bit heretical to equate religion to goods and services.  Clack is free to give out his goods however he wants, even to those who worked less to get it.  It is not a question of fairness, but of what he feels is good.  In the end, just be glad you got something for the work you put in.

Quite right, my wording is poor - they are Clack's Clacks to do with as he pleases and he certainly made plenty of people happy yesterday so job done I suppose.

Does this make me feel better for you or byker?  No.  I have much to learn, but for me the key to winning more than I should have (2/<20) was NOT to try.  Nearly everytime I camped spy from 6pm-2am on a worknight the sale was later or I wasn't concentrating so missed it, while last night I was out 'til nearly 1am and my other win came on JD day which was early and on a weekend.  That doesn't make such a great teaching though...
