Thanks man. I totally understand how he feels since there areany people here who literally camped the thread and dsint win anything.
These are the people I'm talking about. The ones who put in the hours. "Deserving" isn't the proper word, as nubbs said. It's just a little disheartening when it's better to be unlucky in the end because the "consolation prize" is better. This reminds me of another instance where a CC sale went down and Clack decided to put up even better Clacks (enviro and BS etc.) right away to those who didn't make it in and disqualified any "winners" from the previous sale. These kinds of things don't make sense to me. I understand that clack works in mysterious ways and sometimes does things that make us ask "why would he do that?!". It's something we need to accept at this point. I just personally believe that any consolation item should never be of greater value than the "grand prize". That undeniably makes the most sense yet it's not the case. For this reason I believe "generous" isn't the proper word in the same way that "deserving" isn't.

now that clackvent is over....do some people want to give up their 'tricks'?

i'm not sure this applies to everyone, but i noticed that the first page of clackvent loaded up significantly faster than the newest page.  anyone else notice the same?

What helped me was disabling images in my browser and disabling avatars and signatures. Especially helped in the instancea where larger pics and/or gifs were being posted.

Is there really a grand prize? Let's be real...at the end of the day, it's still all plastic. Big deal if it's a different color. My opinion on second chance sales are that they're a separate entity. Not so much a "consolation" sale.

I used Tapatalk for all of my entries. I also have images and avatars disabled when I'm at work. There were plenty of times Tapatalk failed me, but for the most part it worked well. In fact I tried each time last night, and the only two I was able to enter was the one that stayed unlocked for ~5 minutes and the final one. I was usually at work when the thread opened, and my phone was my only option.

I camped the spy, showered with my phone, posted while driving (), etc resulting in like 40-something entries. I ended up winning once, during the JD day.

I'm ok with that. I spent a bunch of effort, with not a lot to show for it, but I really like the camaraderie and community this built. Love you guys!

Pretty much exactly the same situation for me, I feel similarly. **** this could have just been an EK sale and we'd have a lot less happy faces around here. At least with Clackvent a lot of forum regulars got caps rather than them going to be people who'll flip them for profit or never post again.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I mean no disrespect, exit but I can't stand by the "it's all just plastic" argument. The same could be said about copper vs gold. It's all just metal right? The fact of the matter is, different Clacks have different value. If it truly is all just plastic then how about I trade you  5 SP novelties for 5 of your brocaps? It's a ridiculous offer isn't it?

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

That was my thought. OG for all the winners in the finale draw and half of them I don't even recognize! And I've watched that Clackvent thread for two months and saw many others who stayed up late, jumped out of his poo bowl to enter, brought an iPad to the shower, etc. These are the guys more deserving of an OG!

In CC's first post in Clackvent, he said that one has to be committed to be worthy of a win and yet at the last day, there are those who hardly commit time who won an OG! It's the OG I take beef in, ha ha, I'm just mad jealous, is all!

I'm confused I thought it was the exact opposite? I thought he wanted more of a random spread rather than honoring commitment, otherwise he could have just done the email thing again.

Here's the last point of the Radnelac post:

"If you feel the format of this sale will encourage you to be committed, then please don't enter and please pay no mind. Or if you insist then please do something invasive with your frontal lobe."

Well, to be fair we don't know if his cryptic OG message really means they all get OG tri Clacks. But that still doesn't change the situation. It's all fine a dandy that the final draw was limited to those who didn't get in on the event and it's fine that everyone wins on that draw. But just give the $65 clack to the one "winner" and give the others a clack equal to that of the least expensive clack in the draw. That's truly a generous move and doesn't rustle any jimmies.

In CC's first post in Clackvent, he said that one has to be committed to be worthy of a win and yet at the last day, there are those who hardly commit time who won an OG! It's the OG I take beef in, ha ha, I'm just mad jealous, is all!

If that's a direct quote and he did want a random spread, then why allow any one person to win more than one cap in the whole event? Allowing three per member only encourages commitment. Again, more contradiction.

It's over people. Let's not give Clack a reason not to repeat the sale okay? **** I probably spent more time on here than most trying to beat the timezone difference and I'm not salty.

Do I wish I won more clacks? Yes. Would I complain about the one I got? No.

If we can't discuss our opinions and feelings on clack sales then I may as well lock down this therapy thread altogether. This is exactly what I created it for. I'm not going to do that, obviously, but there's no harm in voicing an opinion. If the scripting discussion didn't kill the Clackvent then surely this discussion won't either. We should give clack a little more credit than that. If I were in Clacks shoes, I would encourage this type of discussion and use it to improve sales in the future.

Where did he say they would be OGs? I totally missed that, I suppose.

In his post he alluded to it, on the last before everyone posted.

He's been posting song lyrics in his Clackvent posts and on the final drawing the lyric included "OG".

Oh la la. I was on my phone, so any small text was impossible to see for me. And since the page was totally bombing and I was at a hockey game (with tons of other bored fans, I suppose), I was lucky to sneak one in. Time to go back and read through the text.

EDIT: Ha! The text for that wasn't small, but at that point, it was all I could do to get the page to refresh. Once I saw reply I was all like, "GO! GO! GO!"

I just feel honored to be able to win one straight from the creator himself.
So am I. There's a difference between being ungrateful and opinionated. People tend to confuse the two.

You're free to do as you please but honestly a lot of what is being said is just coming off as salty and ungrateful. If I was CC I wouldn't be impressed considering the work he put in over a two month period to make it happen.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Clack did a great job. The Clackvent was maybe the most fun I've had during clack sales to date. But it's not perfect. Yes, some people will be salty but there are things that can be done to reduce the saltiness in the future. Sometimes all it takes to fix or improve flaws is to shine a little light on them. I'm definitely grateful to have won. That's all.

I just feel blessed that I won a CC directly from CC. I'm really big on firsts and new experiences.

As for the CC I won, I'm totes going to do whatever needs to be done so it looks good on my board. Of course, I'd be ecstatic if it looked godlike as is on my current keyset. My wallet is ready.

By committed, I'm pretty sure Clack meant being committed to a mental asylum, which is what nearly happened to a lot of people camping the thread. :)

I'm really happy this month. Won my first clack win as well as my first bro raffle so I really couldn't ask for more though I would have been salty if I did not win form Radnelac.

Bingo.

The format of the sale was definitely encouraging people to be active and involved (committed).   :thumb:   I'm just glad we all had a good time, mmkay?

I've said it a few pages back - but was drown between the drama between Willy and Synjin - and that is that the Clackvent was truly fun and let us have a view into CC as a member of this community. This sale will go down in memory as one of the best two months for those that camped the sale thread and this therapy thread. And don't forget the pizza and those funny GIFs and what not that was a result of the comradeship among those who partake in the sale. This experience is probably worth more than the keys so I'll cherish this and leave the jealousy behind :)

Onwards to good night sleep and looking forward to beautiful pictures. If they are OG, I hope I could trade with someone!

Just caught up on the Clackvent and the Therapy thread. I gotta say that was one amazing, if not unexpected turn of events for a finale from CC. Super, duper generous and seriously something that will make many clackless happy.

And in this two months, we all got to feel some of CC's humor and personality. He has been very mysterious but when he said he is still part of the community in his FAQ, I don't get what he mean. Now that I've witness him doing great stuff to members like atlas, JD and rowdy, I realize that he's been reading the forum, if not participating actively. That was super awesome!

Hope you get well soon and we all look forward to Clackvent 2016!!!

By committed, I'm pretty sure Clack meant being committed to a mental asylum, which is what nearly happened to a lot of people camping the thread. :)

This how I read it too.

I didn't get to committed stage (as defined above) but it took a reality check to go to bed rather than risk getting fired for yawning all day at work many nights.  Much as camping spy and looking at gifs in therapy 'til the wee hours was fun and I was blessed with two wins which is a little overwhelming considering how many I missed, I am regretting staying up for the finale at 4am now that Monday morning has come and I must head off to work.

I will recover and look back on this event as my second joining - the first time I've been involved in a forum where the topic isn't factual or practical but supportive.

Thank you all for being there along the journey and thanks to Clack for enabling it.  I just hope you're feeling better as we won't know if you relapse - please keep us informed!
