I was salt at first but these ridiculous rules work against macros.

I 100% support this there are some inhumane timed responses. your webdev js is not gonna work now  ;D

congrats nubs for reading the rules

As do I.  There were some obvious scripts last year and it's nice to see workarounds.  Waiting for an MS Paint entry.  I just like making crappy paint-o-shops.

Today's ****ty shop was:

Read rules five times because shocked and retarded, FN+I, winkey then "pa" then enter, ctrl+s, ****, ****, ****, enter, imageham, upload, **** **** ****, select bbcode, copy and paste, drop it.

No clue how I did it.

:'(

I've got a Bro I can get to you at cost as a consolation prize.  I honestly thought it was going to be you, not me.

Congrats Nubb, perhaps more ogres are heading your way.

Hopefully, but it's Topre, so doubt it.  My new Type S does need some love.

aww thanks that's super nice of you, but it's okay. clack rules are clack rules

there's many more chances to come so I don't mind too much

I'd love that, but I really want one the same color as that hot pink Clack Bunny had, or a neon purple one.  I know whatever I get will be cool though.

Re-reading that it's Topre or MX means there's a chance.

Wouldn't have won anyway because I didn't read the instructions lol.

But GH wouldn't let me post because Ed has posted and it was like gurl, you just posted something for your IP and I was like NO THAT WASN'T ME

I'd choose MX if I were you, you wouldn't want to take a bet that there is a new color of ogre AND it is topre, that is just too insane.

I've got a bad feeling about this.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

See my post here.

Unfortunately it's the best I could figure out, and short of disabling notifications in the app (which defeats the whole purpose), I don't think there's a way to turn them off. It definitely sucks for events like these where it's open immediately after he posts, as you just get barraged by the notifications.

Use Tapatalk for the notification and use a browser to post. Of course in this case it wasn't super helpful since Safari can't attach pictures to posts but hopefully that won't happen too much.

You don't have Tapatalk? If you subscribe to the thread, you'll get a notification when CC posts (you'll also get a bajillion when he unlocks it, caveat emptor). Alternatively if you subscribe via GH you get can an email when he posts/unlocks it (you'll also get a slow drip of emails that will seem to last an eternity, like a slow waterboarding for your phone, caveat emptor).

My email notifications are very often late when coming into my phone so it probably wouldn't be worth it to subscribe via GH, but maybe Tapatalk would be worth it.  My phone is pretty slow though (Droid Razr from 3 years ago) so even if I got a notification by the time I actually got to the Reply page the thread would probably be locked, but I'll give it a shot!

Last night I was pretty happy because I actually noticed the thread open almost right away and had a reply ready to send off but then I read the rules and realized I'd have to get a screenshot which didn't happen in time.  It is kind of fun watching the thread and the absolute flood of replies going in when it opens though :)

I just use Tapatalk and if I win, great. If not, that's okay I guess. I'm not going to cheat at it; it's not right and also if I did every time I saw that cap it would remind me that I had to cheat to win.

I don't think the people doing stuff like that think that they are cheating, they probably just see it as bending the rules or as doing whatever is needed to win and possibly even see it as a good thing.  Personally, I would feel the same as you because I don't think it's right to do, but I'm not going to assume everyone doing it feels the same way.

I don't understand. Who could possibly think there's cheating going on? So far, none of the first posts have won. Scripting would get you nothing because it's almost always entirely random.

Scripting would get you in, which is more than I'm able to achieve sometimes.

Maybe they run them when they are away?  Maybe Clack's sales in the past catered to just being able to post right away?

I've gotten in every post. It's not that hard. Even if you just go off tapatalk you can still get in. You may not win, but getting in isn't hard.

Last year sometimes he would only open up the thread for a few seconds. Just getting in some times felt like winning!

And got my paint-o-shop ready to go.  I think I'm having just as much fun making the paint o shops as I am entering.

This brings back memories of the first Clackvent.

People worrying whether they've got time to eat, sleep, work, piss, whatever before the thread is next opened :))

Mild anxiety is bearable.

Debilitating panic is when you know you've really got problems :p
