Montereys have a different pin config than alps, so you wouldn't actually be able to do that.

Those are Matias switches, they make a clicky and a quiet version of them.

Sorry for the offtopic-ish bump to this thread.

I was wondering: how were the LEDs soldered/mounted into the alps board in the OP?

Alps switches (at least those clear matias ones) don't have a hole for an LED like cherry switches do.

LED's soldered on the bottom of the PCB and bent through the center hole which cherry switches would mount to.

Ah, ok, that sounds kind of painful to do. I may end up doing this with matias silent switches on the redline/LZ 1800 (transparent edges on the case too...).  Certainly not on this duck mini, it's getting (opaque) blue clicky alps :D

Thanks so much!

I installed 470 Ohm resisters for LEDs, so the currents would be 5~10mA for each LEDS.
I made the firmware and will release keymapping tools soon.

Thanks!

Some pictures for y'all eager fellows

I posted this on another thread.

There are some defects and imperfections regarding this case.  Some explained by TrueCustoms himself and some I've found after careful inspection.

- There is a chip on the side of the riser due to the anodizing process.
- The plates are stainless steel and the back side of the plates have laser burns.
- PCBs are missing ONE diode on them
- A minor scratch on the flat corner

The burnt is on the back side of the plate, so I think it's fine.

anodization doesn't seem top notch and also the laser cut is a bit rough. But the CNC job seems pretty darn good.

Hopefully the scuffs don't show up so much on the silver ones  :blank:  The plate seems to look nice from the top, so no big deal there.  Excited to get this, regardless.  Thanks for the pictures!

Are the diodes a standard size/specification? (Do diodes even have specifications that matter in non-high-power situations?)  I have a switchless QFR pcb around, can I just harvest a diode from it?

I'm not sure about which diodes.  TrueCustom let me borrow his keyboard to take some diodes off his for the missing ones on the PCBs.

I don't have them with me right now (at work).  I'll see if there is a specific number on it?

Eh, nevermind, I forgot that the QFR was all through-hole components.

Ah, sorry, by "those of us in the US" I really meant "those of us not in the same area of Canada that could pick up our boards in person" :)
