I've never gotten this to work on an external numpad. The way Windows handles the Unicode key combinations, the alt key needs to be from the same device as the numpad keys. Separate devices won't work (AFAIK).

Not sure about the programmable num pad, but using AHK to remap a key to alt should work in theory.
