OH YES!

MORE AGE DISCRIMINATION!

I'M SO PUMPED ABOUT JUDGING PEOPLE BASED ON WHEN THEY WERE BORN!

Heh!  Indeed!

My son just turned seven.  Had his passport since he was three months old, already visited more countries than I did before I was 30.  He always accompanies us to restaurants, orders his own food and drinks, and has never made a scene in public - apart from once when he got some hazelnuts in ice cream without realizing it (allergic reaction).

If a restaurant has issues seating us because of our child, we take our business elsewhere.  Plenty of other places willing to take our entertainment dollars.

Your son is a VERY RARE EXCEPTION unfortunately. My sister and I were the same way and our parents had no problem toting us around when they needed to. They also had no problem hiring a baby sitter when they wanted privacy or were going to a nice restaurant. What you just described was the norm for most young children 30+ years ago, but not any more.

Kudos greystroke for being a good parent! You are pretty rare these days too.

Here we go...
hahahah.

Kids should also be forbidden to use a vag!na to entry the world. It's damaging to many assets on their way out!

Neither of mine came out that way, but the alternative has its own issues.

I never realized how annoying children were until I worked on kids eat free night at Mcalister's Deli.  First you have the screaming, crying, and running around children.  SO ****ing loud.  Next you have the grumpy ass *****y parents who feel the need to take everything out on their server or anybody who is working that night.  Yeah I realize you have been waiting on your food for 15 minutes, how about you go help sandwiches with the 30 tickets on the rail?  Oh hire more people you say?  Yeah maybe we could if we didn't have kids eat free every Monday and if people like you didn't demand free food for anything and everything.  Finally you have the children who don't even eat their food, they would rather just dump that **** on the floor or wipe it all over the table.  At the end of the night the floor is covered in bread crust, teddy grahams, chips, applesauce, and mac n cheese.

Gotta smile the whole time :)

Welcome to my hell.

:-) My line was not meant to be taken seriously. It was just an absurd comment in a absurd thread.

ah just saw you're in canada.

but yeah kidney stones suck. i've had some that were just an annoying pain to some that left me unable to do anything until the pain stopped. only one required for me to go to a clinic. and all they said is to just drink tons of water and let it pass.

anyway back to the topic.

i hate kids.

Unfortunately the problem isn't with the children, it's with the parents. I don't even have kids but I have friends with children on both sides of the problem and lets just say the parenting styles involved are very different.

Honestly parents can be 'perfect' and their kids can sill be awful and rotten at times.

But the there are too many parents like the last who's 3yr old drowned because she was distracted by social media. I'd post a pic but don't wasn't to stir the racial pot.

Exactly ... If anyone look the TV show from Cesar Millan, most famous as the “Dog Whisperer”

There is no bad dogs... Just stupid owners. The cure is always 90% on the people and 10% on the dogs.

I think it's the same with kids. The one raised by a mother+father and the other raised by a game console will not behave the same in a restaurant...

Unfortunately the problem isn't with the children, it's with the parents. I don't even have kids but I have friends with children on both sides of the problem and lets just say the parenting styles involved are very different.

For any Chuck Norris claims - Paul Hogan does it better! End of discussion :-)

This. This times a million.

My son just is 10 months old, and I'll be damned if I let him grow up to act like a disrespectful, inconsiderate, and entitled little ****bag.

Too many parents these days have no idea what it means to discipline a child (which is actually good for the kid, believe it or not).

Anyone want to guess where the seat of government is?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Nothing wrong with kids behaving like kids when they're at home, or in a playground, or at a chain restaurant. But there's a bunch of other places kids don't belong. Like proper restaurants, the opera, strip clubs, etc.

It's interesting that some parents are so inconsiderate and feel so deserving that they can't seem to fathom the fact that a proprietor might care more about the interests of their clientele as a whole than their individual custom. Demand usually far outstrips supply for good restaurants anyway, so it's hardly like they'll miss your business - although I'd imagine a "no-kids" policy would only increase custom anyway.

Sth, it's called "code switching". Different situations and social settings call for different behavior. It's something that all of us do without realizing it usually.

A child screaming and yelling and running around in a playground is acceptable behavior in that setting. A child screaming and yelling and running around in a formal restaurant is not acceptable behavior in our society. And parents are responsible for teaching and preparing their children to live, survive, and thrive in society.
SSKs for everyone!

I have a lot to say in response, but I can't right now, as I'm too busy propagating the human race. Sorry the future of mankind is so inconvenient and such a problem. Although it's no wonder kids turn out to be such little ****s. You keep telling them they're a problem, eventually they'll believe you.

Yeah I could've worded that better, but that attitude just makes me rage, so rather than bang my head against a wall I'm gonna bow the **** out. Enjoy your restaurants.

I'm sure the world would actually benefit from a few less people, so don't act like you're doing everyone a favour by popping out kids.

If you keep telling people anything, eventually they will believe you. Remember the little recession that Clinton caused when he went into office? All he said was that the United States as currently in a recession and people stopped spending money, which really did cause a recession.

If you label small children, they'll internalize it for life.
