Do DSI and Keycool have the same profile keycaps?
« on: Sat, 10 August 2013, 19:24:44 »
I have a DSI left handed keyboard*, nd I want to put on some colored modifier and win keycaps, the best deal I've found is a set made by keycool.

I’m a newb to the keyboard world, and I’ve skimmed over the forum a bit and apparently
Some keycaps are different profiles.

My question is do DSI and Keycool have the same profile keycaps?

Thanks.

No one knows?

I can pop off the keycaps and take photos or give their measurements with a caliper if that would help.

My KeyCool is at work, but from memory the keycaps are OEM profile.

I do not have DSI for comparison.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yes you should be good to go. Any OEM profile keycaps should match up with the stock keys you have on your DSI. Depending on how the key mounts on the enter, the aftermarket steelseries sets might be 100% compatible as well if you wanted to replace them all with some nicer set of PBT or whatever.
