As I promised in my sales thread, it's time for a mini contest/giveaway. Up for grabs in this giveaway are two prizes, a sleeved USB cable and a wood handled key cap puller.

The rule for this giveaway are simple, post a picture of you using something keyboard related in a non-traditional way. This can be key caps, keyboards, USB cables, cap pullers, anything directly related to keyboards. Please keep the pictures safe for work, though implied NSFW is fine. I'll pick the best entries on September 14th and will announce the winners then. I'll ship anywhere, but if you're outside the US, I may ask you to chip in a few bucks to help with shipping.

The prizes:

I may add additional prizes later, but these are the two that are up for grabs now. I'm looking forward to the entries.

I had made one of those cheesy "You are my type" collages out of old keycaps, but it seems others are going to do some wackier things, so I'll refrain :-).

does this count? doing really cost ineffective, labor intensive mods to keyboard related stuff

a usb cable made using 8 strands of silver plated copper, done in a round braid I picked up while learning how to make audio cables. In retrospect, a wacky way and costly of making a usb cable - and something I don't care to repeat again.

So I had this really bad setup for soldering at home. It's not that my soldering equipment that was bad, but it was my table itself. I couldn't find a place to work outside of my apartment, so I bought this cheapo Ikea table so I could solder near my open windows. Unfortunately it was really low.

It's been annoying me to work on that table and it actually hurt my back the last time I built a keyboard. So I bought a set of legs which are taller and adjustable.

Modded table

The tall silver legs can be unscrewed so that the table can be the same height as the other tables I have

So the table is now at the proper height, same as my desk. Now I can comfortably work on my boards.

Oh and for those who are interested, I used a Lack table and Adils legs. Pretty cheap little project that is very functional for my needs.
