WTS CC Night Owl (Not really, HL3 discussion)
« on: Thu, 03 October 2013, 17:15:42 »
Can't believe I actually won; just posted on IRC and a guy offered me $400, I think that's a bit low. So I'm auctioning it of with -15% going to GH (yes minus, that means whatever I sell it for GH owes me an extra 15%)

Auction starts at $450 shipping extra

In a little more seriousness, since the phrase "Half-Life 3" has just been trademarked thoughts on if it's actually going to be released "soon" ?

Like I said, there was supposed to be something funny here, but I can't remember what in the hell it was. Oh well may aswell continue the regular G pH trolling style.

Buy an ergo-dox, possibly with ML switches? That would be the best for gaming.

You forgot that you have to buy it using IE6 on a Win98 computer in an apple-free environment ;)

And beyond the hills, the wind softly blew through the branches of the tallest oak tree. Some say that if you listened closely, the gentle sound of jimmies being rustled could be heard.

I'm hanging out for HL3 - I want to find out what happened to Eli!

The original HL is the only game where I really feel at home when I start playing - like the other scientists are passing random comments, but it really feels like you are part of a team.  Almost brings a tear to the eye.

HL2 doesn't quite capture that, but I enjoyed it anyway, and replayed it several times including Ep 1 and 2.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

As much as I'd like to talk about HL3, there is nothing more important to me right now than the Night Owl CC lol.  You can't start a topic with a title like that and expect people here to actually talk about HL3.  Especially the day after the drawing ended!   :p

Out of curiosity, did you get the Topre or MX version?

EDIT: Whoops, guess I should have read the dates.  Well did you really win one then?

With the sad loss of hope for many (most) of us in this drawing, having something else to talk about takes the mind off night owls for a while.

So, HL3 with the Source engine, or Source 2 or something else new?

I reckon Source 2, whic his why it is taking so long - developing the game and an engine at the same time.

If they aren't trying to cover it up by saying it is a hoax then that sounds very plausible.  It's been almost a decade since HL2 was released though.  I would think that if they were going to make another game in the series we would have heard a little something more by now.  I know that Starcraft 2 came out a decade after the original, but it wasn't just a whole decade of literally nothing if I recall correctly.
