I mean, I get my fair share of hate mail (I post the weekly Q/A thread @ r/mechanicalkeyboards), but that's not like this. Also reddit is mostly teenagers and neckbeards and I like it better here anyway.

Just keep doing what you're doing. Unless I've knowingly done something to attract hate (and trust me you'd know if I was doing that), I usually just ignore hate mail.

There was a guy that emailed him an email thoughtfully titled "You ***hole"

He proceeded to call MOZ a "****ing *****" or something like that.

He then claimed that MOZ was "licking bunny's ***" or something like that and called MOZ a piece of "cheap indian ****".

I don't understand.

Yep, please provide the original "nasty" retort from that individual.  Since reading from the beginning of this posting some ignorant moron's like to pass the buck to an "Australian" being the culprit, but better still some brain-dead - idiot, even posts that it was me...... I nearly fell over laughing to think that when it came to underhanded behaviour that someone thinks I'm in his league.  Sadly I'm not and am quite proud of it.

Quite simply I don't like to call people names, unless provoked.  It's usually the old guantlet being thrown down first, to which there needs to be a response.  But today at work everything has gone together perfectly and will be getting an added bonus this coming week.  So for me personally, only good karma shall ensue.

seeing this now moz, i read the email via the grapevine, i just wanna say that it was horrible...

one thing i've discovered about GH...everyone is just as image obsessed here as they are in real life...everyone speaks behind closed doors and no one really has the courage to say things truthfully out loud here on geekhack or in the irc..especially on the irc. people can screenshot here and claim to see things, but the poster can edit their post and whatnot, and people can still hide what they said here, so even that is slightly untrue. in the irc, nothing can be taken back, everything is seen. you usually wont find cowards in the irc... )

there is truth in that statement...i do agree with that. But with some seriously manipulative and sad people on GH, their image is everything. They can't edit and twist their words after they have said them on the IRC, and thus, you won't usually find them there (some prefer skype )).

The good news is that the thread served its purpose, the person that sent the hate mail, realized his mistake and sent an apology.

I won't post a screenshot, as it contains their username.

The extract of the mail is that the person was frustrated by some GBs regarding the Phantom and a case related to it which have been stalled and/or delayed for a long time. He was frustrated and drunk and then saw some of my posts in the open source TKL case and GHPad threads and got even more mad regarding the case and how acrylic case designers work.

He apologised and said he knows all that was said was unnecessary and wished me to continue my work.
