[eBay] SIIG Suntouch Jr. NOS $50 + shipping
« on: Thu, 17 October 2013, 23:55:03 »
This SIIG Suntouch Jr. looks a bit different from other SIIG Suntouch Jr.'s I've seen, which usually look similar to the SIIG MiniTouch.

This Suntouch has regular-sized keys function keys, odd casing, and no function keys.  I'm unsure of the type of ALPs switches it has, but it's probably white sliders.

Ohh this looks very neat. I really like the layout except for the Ins and Del keys. If it was slightly cheaper I would have bought it in a heartbeat. Watching this for now.  ;)

That's a really nice price, someone should pick this up. I'm pretty confident that this is the Monterey Blue version, and is worth quite a bit more than this. You can see the "Made in Taiwan" sticker on one of the pictures, I've never seen a Monterey Blue number pad before so this may be valuable.

Edit: Oh wait it says keypad sold separately, nevermind about number pad.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181241268214?ssPageName=STRK:MESCX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1554.l2649 is the keypad, also made in Taiwan so probably Monterey Blues but the connector will most likely make it unusable.

Really odd that he'd sell a numpad separate that will only work with those keyboards.

Someone should offer to buy them both together for like $70.

Looks like he just removed the keypad listing.  I'm assuming there is a 15-pin port on top of the keyboard?

If he pairs one of the keyboards with the keypad in a new listing, I'd take it.

Edit: Nevermind, the keypad is listed back

Well, I picked one up just for the normal placement of control and alt.  That was the one thing I couldn't get over with normal minitouches.

Hooray for impulse buys!

It'll be awkward if the bidder who wins the keypad has no Suntouch keyboard to pair it up with.  I'll only try to win the keypad if the last Suntouch keyboard is still available.

It appears the seller has lurking around here because now the keyboard and keypad are listed together, and it's now an auction for $65 starting price.  No more buy it now.

Hey seller, remove a keycap and take a picture.  Then we could know for sure if you have Alps or Monterey.

EDIT: the box says ALPS, so I have a hard time believing those that think this is a Monterey board.

Yes please! I predict it will go for an insane amount if these are Monterey blues.

I edited my last statement, but the box does say ALPS.  So I suspect the Monterey fan boys will be disappointed.

A Siig with an ISO enter is cool though.

Will Ebacho get his before the new auction ends? Hope so!
I'm hoping it's just white sliders so I'm not tempted :)

I suggested that he pair the two together.  I also asked him to take off a key cap, but he didn't want to damage NOS items.

Received today.  White alps, as many of you guys suspected, works perfectly over Soarer's converter.  Keycaps are actually doubleshot, which was a nice surprise (also, a properly stabilized enter key, which is a godsend compared to the original minitouch...).  If you've ever tried white alps, this feels pretty much the same as any other board with them.  Overall, a nice little board.
