HHKB 3?
« on: Thu, 31 October 2013, 20:37:58 »
Do you think, or has anyone heard, anything about a new model of the HHKB? I would love it if the space bar was reduced, dedicated arrow keys and bluetooth. Thanks.  ;D

You are asking for an HHKB Pro2 JP, basically. You could always do a bluetooth mod yourself, but I don't foresee that happening with their official products.

But there is no HHKB 3, officially

Hasu's chipset for HHKB has potential for wireless, assuming that's still a work in progress.

JIS HHKBs are just some PFU marketing bull**** for Japanese buyers... it isn't the layout that Dr.Wada had in mind when he helped create it and the function layer really ceases to make as much sense as it does on the HHKB Pro2

My R-Shift key is bigger than your space bar :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
