2nd choice is a classic Mini with supercharger and few other choice aftermarket bits (custom cam, 1.5 ratio rockers, duplex cam chain, flowed head, disc brake kit, etc..) for sheer unadulterated fun factor!

Even a stock classic Mini is fun to drive. Just for added geekness, here's a fun fact: The Mini engine and gearbox design / layout (vertical stack) inspired the Lamborghini Miura engine layout which was crucial to the design. It also paved the way for all future front-wheel drive hatchbacks.
How dare you try and add geekness to any of that without a single mention of the word "transverse"! HOW DARE you sir!
Any who...
My two dream cars (outside of personal design?) have already been mentioned in this thread.
1) Classic mini
2) Caterham
In my opinion they are both incredible to drive. And after driving countless minis I feel part of my soul is missing without one. From the Morris mini minor, Moke, Riley Elf, Wolseley Hornet, Clubman, Traveler, Pickup, to one of the very last classic Mini Coopers to roll off the production line. Wobbly magic wand to remote; A-series to Vtec; 13s to 10s; moustache to square nose, make no mistake I love them damn little cars. I don't recall ever driving a mini Marcos though.
I do have a huge list of dream cars, however, those top two feel a bit more special and deserve top honors.
