Have you thought about doing price tiers? Just so people looking to spend a desired amount get priced with others looking to spend a desired amount.

That's not at all in the spirit of Secret Santa though.  Secret Santa is about giving, giving what you feel comfortable giving, and giving something from the heart that you really think the other person will like.  You're trying to find something thoughtful based on what you know about them.

As long as you're not one of those people who signs up to try and get something awesome while shipping off crap because you're a selfish cheapskate, the price tier shouldn't matter.

And remember, you don't always have to buy something to send.  You can make some cool things or try all kinds of new things.

By joining this you shouldn't be expecting someone equally as valuable as what you gave, and definitely shouldn't be expecting to get something better than you gave.

This whole thing is about giving, and 'pricing tiers' would totally ruin that imo.

Also, complicates things for bunny..

I totally understand. It was just a suggestion, and either way, I'll be trying to get the coolest thing I can  for the person I get, unless I don't know who they are :P Either way, someone is getting a pony in the mail.

as i just said to someone through pm

and in regards to tiers and such

if people are concerned about what they have to send and values and such, none of that matter, what i and some people may take for granted is, we may have people or family around us at christmas, but i can guarantee that wont be the case for everyone who takes part in this, no matter what it is you send, tthere will be some people that take part in this that no matter what it is they get, it will make them happier than some people who take part could ever know

yes some people may send the bare minimum, some people will go wildly overboard, but to some people, its not gonna be what is in their package that counts, but that someone out their has sent something just to them

and i think that is something really great

Exactly this. What one person sends really has nothing to do with what another sends. What you receive should have no factor in what you send. If you don't have the means (or inventory) to send a "commodity" item, sending a handwritten note to your recipient, with a heartfelt sentiment of your feeling toward them is just as valid as a gift.

Last Secret Santa, Glissbro sent me a bunch of things like a MX Lock Switch, BroBot, and Whiskerbox cable <3. But what I remember most is this letter that I got with it.

It's not about what things you send and how much they are, it's about....well Girlshark said it best :P

Christmas time and Christmas cheer, pour the Girlshark another beeeer! So buy lots of gifts, and give them awayyyyy!!!! Secret Santa is sweet mon amiiiiii!

This is going to make Christmas time (My birthday is Dec 25th) super awesome!

Our birthdays are one day apart :thumb:

I can feel the connection...I always knew there was something ;)

Almost birthday bros haha, actually growing up was the pits because I always got one thing for Christmas and my birthday  ???

as i just said to someone through pm

and in regards to tiers and such

if people are concerned about what they have to send and values and such, none of that matter, what i and some people may take for granted is, we may have people or family around us at christmas, but i can guarantee that wont be the case for everyone who takes part in this, no matter what it is you send, tthere will be some people that take part in this that no matter what it is they get, it will make them happier than some people who take part could ever know

yes some people may send the bare minimum, some people will go wildly overboard, but to some people, its not gonna be what is in their package that counts, but that someone out their has sent something just to them

and i think that is something really great

And what I was getting at earlier is I guess I was just thinking I don't want to disappoint anyone, knowing how generous many people here are I know there will be some impressive things going out and I'm running low on things to giveaway  ::)
