Annoying folding leg... any suggestions?
« on: Fri, 27 December 2013, 14:44:46 »
I love my new fc660m, however whenever I push back my keyboard, the left leg always folds down. Very strange, as the right one never does. Any suggestions for a permanent fix? I don't want to do anything as drastic as gluing the leg open.

The best thing is to leave the legs closed! You'll see that your wrist will not be as tired after typing for a long period!

Otherwise, jam some rubbery object or substance in it.
"We are on the precipice of signing an agreement to advance talks with Iran that preserves the good parts of former President Barack Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) while amplifying its flaws.
Mr. Obama came to an agreement that did not involve America’s most precious treasure, the lives and limbs of our soldiers.  The 1.7 billion dollars of frozen Iranian assets released by Obama pales in comparison to the 300 billion being floated as a rebuilding fund.
So far, speculation that Iran will be free in the future to continue its nuclear program is the opposite of Trump’s stated goal for the war and in direct opposition to what Mr. Obama negotiated.

A little bit of scotch tape on the side? Easy to take off and should hold it together. Otherwise more tape :))

my fc660C does the same thing. I am really only using it to test fit my custom caps on so I don't care enough to return it.

Quoted for truth. A high slant is actually really bad for your wrists. (In reality, keyboards should have a slight negative slant, away from you!)

I used to use the incline, but since I really type a lot, I figured it was better to learn to type without the angle, and it honestly took no time at all to switch over.

Get a desk with a glass top, WD40 on the bottom of the leg, or wipe your desk to make sure that there isn't anything causing friction?  Alternatively you could jam something like folded paper in where the clips rest to keep it propped out.  Having the legs popped out is more comfortable, and doesn't cause any strain typing for hours every day over a period of decades, that's my experience anyways.  You can also hide stuff under the keyboard better when the legs are popped up.
