I think it's biggest issue is that it's so large
Interesting thread this is.
I'm looking for a new keyboard (again), after it turns out that my clicky SMK-88 creates a problem in combo with my Fujitsu ScanSnap. I have been informed that this is probably related to "USB bus stall". Upon changing back to the Apple white transparent-casing keyboard, the improvement was indeed noticeable.
But my keyboard tray is small, and I rarely use the numerical keypad, so I want one without. Alas, there are not too many options (for the Mac). I used a Cherry keybaord, I believe the G84-4100, but it wasn't working well with the Mac because the control-option-command keys were dissimilar (I could change the caps lock to control, and told myself it was OK, but really it wasn't). Otherwise, I loved this keyboard, much more than the SMK (let alone Apple). It isn't overly high (like the SMK or that old Apple one) and clicks nicely. Alas,
http://www.cherry.de only seem to make the INITIAL for MAC - which is an extended keyboard that leaves me no space for my mouse.
So I need a clicky, Mac-compatible keyboard - and preferably one not drawing too much power from the USB-bus. Any ideas anyone?
