Ducky Shine 3 Trouble
« on: Sat, 04 January 2014, 22:49:52 »
First Post Here - for some reason, the entire 5th row of my Ducky Shine 3 keyboard (shift, z, x, c, etc...) has an error with actually registering if the key is being pressed or not.

It also happens to be every other key (z, c, b, m, >, shift).  I have tried restarting in safe mode, restarting in general, and playing with the functions and/or resetting them, on the keyboard itself.  Really hoping one of you guys have the answer!

did you reset the keyboard to stock settings?  it's REALLY easy to accidentally turn on some of the special settings on that board.

Yea, the double windows key for 3 seconds seems to 'reset' the board.  And yes, the amount of times I've accidentally messed up something up on it in 2 weeks of use is amazing.

Care to elaborate the problem?

Are the keys not registering ? If so please test using Aquakeytest

Still under warranty?  Can you RMA it?

Yea, I bought it at the beginning of December.  I'd rather look for a solution if there is one though xD

Used the Aqua key test.  WEIRD findings (for me).  All of the keys I stated would not go off, but they almost looked to be pushed down? on the key test.

Here's the weird part - Shift + Z activates X, V, N, <, ?, /, ., Alt, Down, Right Arrow, Down Arrow, and CTRL.  The keys in my first post would straight up not register :S

Sounds a bit like a controller issue.

But as soon as you open the case to investigate, you are likely to void your warranty.

RESOLVED: Not entirely sure how, but plugging in another keyboard and leaving the other one off, and then LATER coming back to it fixed all of the issues.  Still convinced I messed up one of the thousands of features with the Function key.  Thanks for all of the help anyways!

A happy ending :)
