Geeckers tooling investments #2: Electric Bugaloo
« on: Sun, 12 January 2014, 20:34:05 »
a member asked earlier this week about where the geeckers money has been going. i popped back into this thread and noted that i've been making some progress on the ideas i had in the OP; the learn to solder kits should hopefully be in production again starting tomorrow, we now have a fantastic powdercoater that has all our powders, knows and understands how we produce things (somewhat burstily), and cptbadass and i will be working on getting us access to a regular machine shop (although there is also one near the powder shop which may be an option..).

there is also a certain amount of stuff that just goes on without a lot of public comment. i built much of binge's newer casting and molding setup (buy bingecaps! ;)) and am building two more circuits for casters and molders on the forum. it's not a service i've publicly advertised, but i'm absolutely happy to do it, as i love the items that come out of these setups and i think they're unique artifacts that the community can kind of lay claim to.

anyway, geeckers is very much about "for geekhackers by geekhackers". my goal is to aggregate capital such that we can do things together as a community that would be impossible as an anarchistic gaggle.
