phantom compatible switches

Hi,

Does anyone know if the Futaba Switches are compatible with the Phantom PCB?
I have this switches http://deskthority.net/wiki/Futaba_clicky_switch that i got from a Samsung 1010ds keyboard.

Nope, they are not compatible with that PCB. If you take a look at the pins of MX switches you will notice that they are offset in both X and Y whereas Futaba have their pins at the edges.

Only Cherry MX (an clones of MX) will work on ErgoDox.

Someone discovered that you could sort of fit Alps switches on the PCB, but you would have to design and make a new plate and case because 1) Alps have different dimensions than Cherry, and 2) the switches wouldn't be centred on the old switch positions.

I would be interested to try Linear Futaba switches. The ones on the keyboard I mentioned were clicky tactile switches, but they only clicked on switch return. Essentially the total opposite of Cherry blues. It was very awkward feeling. Coupled with some nasty grime and discoloration I deemed it not worth my while.

the futaba switches are faceplate mounted (i think) what if i just connect the switches to the phantom with wire? are the switches going to be too louse?

True. Wire them in a matrix to a teensy. There are guides here for that.
