The main problem that some people have here with more mainstream products like the G710+ is that it usually has some weird modifier sizing, making it very difficult to acquire a whole keycap set for it. That being said, I don't find issues with many; the QFR is one of the best-sellers, and is an excellent board with perfectly standard modifiers and good quality. I personally really like the G710+, the o-rings + browns feel very nice. However, there's a lot of extra space to the keyboards and I personally wouldn't buy a full-size, it's irritating having to move the hand so far from the keyboard to get to the mouse.
Seeing how you want customization in your board, a QFR is a great place to start. No nonstandard keys at all, and you can try the TKL form factor to see if you like it. If you want to start a bit more expensive and fancier, the Ducky TKL are nice, and the Yellow edition which I am using has nice, thick PBT caps on it as well as the best lighting settings of any board anywhere. Filcos are also excellent quality, among others. Either way, welcome and enjoy your stay!
