Media mail is for books, documents, CDs, etc.  Parcel post is something else: is the cheapest ground transportation for any random thing.  It's still available to businesses, I believe.  The cheapest standard ground transportation available to private individuals for random non-media things is now called Standard Mail and is more expensive than Parcel Post
