I bought a MY-7000 for the keycaps. When I pulled the caps underneath was hardened icing, bits of hard candy, and dust. Apparently the previous owner had a sweet tooth.

Typically when I clean out an old, dirty keyboard, I find things like bits of decomposing food, lots of lint/hair/dust, and one or more rusty paperclips.

I also discover many switches hiding under my keys. Sometimes they are blue, other times they're brown or black, and SOMETIMES there's just a big ol' spring there.  Not quite sure what their function is, but I'll get back to you when I find out more about it... #sarcasm

I remember when I used the family PC when I didn't have my own, which included keyboards that weren't mine, I did not give a ****. There'd mostly be a bunch of dried yoghurt, milk and noodle-water, salt and crumbs. And that changed when Vun bought me my first keyboard. That **** remained PRISTINE.

Didn't someone recently get a cherry board that was used at a hair salon?

I bought a Dell AT101W from a cat owner. Didn't know the seller owned a cat until I started pulling caps. YIKES!

I have a few keyboards that were recovered from garbage dumps. A few of them have had quite a bit of soil in them, while others have been pristine. Never paid more than a Euro (equivalent) for any.

My M-122 was disguisting

When it came out, it smelled like ****. Caps were greasy af.

I took of the case and was greeted by dust and a dead bug under the winkeyless part. Panicked and took a vacuum to it.

I tried to vacuum up the hair and dust but it didn't work :'(

Ended up hand cleaning the whole thing with wet tissues. Each tissue was good for one pass then it was all gunked up.

I hate used boards, especially those used for 20+ years :'(

Fohat should have lots of stories. I'm just waiting for him to show up and talk about finding dead baby rats in his Model F or something.
