Man, I wanted to find a new one of those for the longest time.  But then I found Topre, and I sort of lost the urge. 

FYI:  These keybo's have a nearly Filco compatible Cherry double-shot set on them.  All you need is a center-stemmed Caps Lock.  Or you can do mod on the stepped Caps Lock. 

Too bad they look so used and shiny.

Okai, now I understand.  Only the POS have the off-centered mods.  'Cuz I remember people searching for these a few years back like crazy.  I guess it was the standard G81-8000H-series.  NOT the POS series.  So FYI:  get the non-POS version for a sweet set of cherry double shots.  Otherwise you gotta buy two boards to get one complete set.

G81-3004LANCH isn't POS and it has off centered spacebar and 1.25mods.

Thats strange. I remember reading here that it was the less common non POS MY boards that had regular caps. Do you know if the 3004 is the only one or are there more?

Any Cherry G81 board with thick PBT lasered keycaps, and 1.25x mods will have off center 1.25 mods and off center spacebar.

Any Cherry G81 board with thick PBT lasered keycaps, and 1.25x mods will have off center 1.25 mods and off center spacebar.

There's also a chance to get the weird MY stabilizers that are molded onto the key itself, which means that even if you have a custom board to use the offset spacebar you're out of luck.

I've had it happen with the lasered POM ones too.  Cherry why, etc.

All G81 have offset stems on 1.25 modifiers. There is a reason for that madness, which is the membrane matrix is universal for 1.25 and 1.5 mod models and due to trace routing the switch position couldn't be centered. I still think it was dumb, as I can't imagine printing different membranes would cost more than producing new keycap tooling and having to make multiple versions of the same key but... yeah.
As far as in built stabilizers, there is no such thing for doubleshots, at least that I have ever seen so there is no worry. I've yet to see that on POMs either, but I suppose they may have started doing so more recently. You can use those inbuilt stab clip keycaps with costars though.

Right 1.5 is always all normal, no problem on G80 or whatever other MX that use it. Surprisingly enough it seems Cherry may still be producing 1.5 models with AT cables. At least they still were as recently as 2009 as I have a G81-1800H**US-02 I picked up NOS not too long ago.

We were talking about mods that will be compatible with his Filco in other words 1.25u mods, why are 1.5u mods even discussed? For 1.25 I haven't encountered center stemmed for MY model...
