I guess?  It was a gift when I graduated law school.  And it's fun to bang it when I want everyone else to shut up and pay attention (which is what judges use it for).  They way they're made, you can hit it pretty softly and it still makes a really loud noise.

I LURVE my schiit stack.  I custom built that copper stand to fit above it.  And it makes my Mad Dogs sing like I wouldn't have thought possible beforehand (coming from lesser equipment).  I can't recommend it enough.  Affordable, plug and play, portable, beautiful...must...stop...

I got one of those as an award from my job a few years ago.  I'm a contract statistical programmer, doing work for Pharmaceutical companies.  Mine was Gangrene I believe :)
