I am digging that standing "desk". Any info on it?
I worked professionally as a photographer for several years and have a fair amount of gear still, including a lot of manfrotto lighting grips. Lighting grip heads are super useful in general, along with super-clamps and 5/8" steel tubing is pretty cheap, so I use grips for kind of everything around the house now - e.g. lots of kids forts built with lighting grips
Like mashby mentioned above, his interest in the grip desk was travel related. Actually similar motivation on my part initially (I still go back to asia on a regular basis and wanted some sort of portable standing desk). In the end the main pole in this incarnation was too long for me to feel inclined to port it around with me on vacation (though I might do it locally if we head out to stay on some puget sound islands).
Cost is potentially prohibitive and I don't vouch for stability (it's all up to how you piece it together), but I really like the approach and it's still either all or part of my main desk (depending on the mode - standing or sitting).
