That definitely went for a lot more than I was expecting. With that layout, I can't see being able to use it as a daily driver on a PC, even with a compatible controller. Maybe someone just really wanted it as a collector's item?

Agreed. Some people consider the DW to have the most usable layout of all the beams.

I've been looking for one for at least 10 years. Maybe more like 20 years, since I read Zinsser's Writing with a Word Processor. Only became practical recently of course...

well, if it makes you guys feel any better, the spacebar was smashed in shipping. The right bottom part is snapped off, and it's riding up on the ENTER key, and completely jammed.

$200, and $1 worth of bubble wrap and a recycled cardboard box.

Its really unfortunate that this happened. I overpaid for shipping on my most recent beamspring, and received it in a used / recycled box and bubblewrap, but at least he used enough wrap that it arrived in the same condition he sent it in.

I don't think anyone here feels better about a beam spring taking damage...

The damage sucks and I hope you can get compensation in some form from the seller, but as long as the metal stems aren't too badly damaged, I have to wonder if a cherry/topre spacebar couldn't be modified to fit on the mounts.

You probably could, but the length might be an issue. I wonder if a different bar mount switch spacebar would fit better.
