Have you used other large mouse matts before and what comparable mouse pad would you describe the mouse glide of the Perixx as?
Good question as I was wondering that myself before I took the plunge to see for myself. I would say that the feel of the pad is similar to that of the Razer Goliathas Control edition. However, it is not as rough as that. It is a tad smoother. At first, I was hoping it would be like the control edition Razer Goliathus but I actually like this material better.
The other large mouse matts I have used are the Razer Goliathus speed and control edition; XTrac Ripper XXL, several different hard mouse pads (one from Staples and one from Razer) and another one from another company I forget the name of as I returned it immediately due to it's shape.
Most XXL mouse matts I have tried usually use the age old cloth from the old school mouse pads which I guess is cheaper. Very few companies use a quality material and even less hem the edges. The reason why I think a material like this is important is due to ware. My other matts would start to get faded or white in certain areas. This pad gets a bit white from oils and all I do is take a dry towel and wipe it with some pressure and it looks like new.
Just to give you an example as to the material and the color where you can especially see the difference is in a picture here. The XTrac I keep under it was flipped so the part I am comparing it to is not faded and side of the Perixx is the same end my wrists go. The lighting is also not great and the difference is more prominent in real life. So sorry for the Potatoe shot, I'll take a Nikon shot tomorrow for you if you need.
