Just because a shopfront has a limited selection of goods, doesn't mean the limited range is due to a discerning shop owner. Not to say EK doesn't stock quality products, but for one, profit margins would arguably be just as important (if not more) a factor in deciding which stock to sell. Furthermore, competition between local suppliers and establishing a niche market would be high on the priorities list. Really, I don't know Brian and have never bought anything at EK (yet!), so this is not directed at them, I'm just saying a shop's very limited range could be due to many, many, many factors outside quality of end merchandise.
