Mouse Pads: the good the bad and the ugly
« on: Sat, 24 May 2014, 22:27:17 »
So I've just joined the mechanical keyboard community. Got a shiny new CM Quickfire Stealth with Cherry MX Browns. I've got a pretty well loved Logitech MX10. My desk is looking pretty slick... If it weren't for the nearly 30 year old, ragged and dirty Mouse pad. I got it from my dad when I was a kid and it has some how survived through the years despite looking pretty frayed. I'd post a photo of it but I'm too ashamed to. It has a literal blood stain.

I gotta ditch it... I need some thing new. So inspire me guys, lets see some of your mouse pads and general desk set ups. What do you have sitting next to your cool keyboards?

Artisan Hayate. Though it can be a lint magnet.

Care to direct me then instead of just complaining?

I literally see nothing but one discussion about a Perixx Keyboard/Mouse Matt.

Hayate is on Massdrop right now for like half the MSRP. Would recommend anyone considering one to pick one up.

I also recommend Artisan. Most people discuss mousemat/pad in this subtopic section.

It's probably about 26 years old. I really don't remember when I got it. My dad used to be an Amiga software engineer and we've had computers and junk around as far as I can remember. At some point I got my own machine and just took one of his old ones. So I really don't know how long he had it before me. But yeah been using it for years. It may be the only mouse pad I've ever used. No idea why I haven't swapped it out before because it is pretty horrid. Lazy I guess? Afraid of change? Blissfully unaware of how godawful it is... no... no I know.

And no I was not lying about the blood stain. Why would I go on the internet and post lies?

I'm tempted to email this picture to various nice mouse pad companies and see if one of them sends me a shiny new one out of pity.

Or just use the table top.

I have a 10-year-old glass Steelseries that has been fabulous.

They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
