IBM Early model M
« on: Sat, 14 June 2014, 13:24:48 »
Here's a 1390131 with the old school bar code label, manufactured April 86. Appears to be in good shape. I haven't seen a bar coded model for sale in a while. Starting bid is $100.

Looks nice, but I don't think it's worth that premium price. $100 shipped is pushing it, really, and $200? No way.

Has 6 watchers, though. Maybe they're waiting for the price to go down.

I don't think $100 shipped is pushing it that hard.  Maybe a little, but I think he'll get it.

Drool.

I love the 1390131, it is my favorite, and I have always wanted an old-school label. I thought that they were only seen on 1390120s.

If blue-label 1990s Ms are selling for $60-80, this one should be worth well over $100.

If I was more flush right now, I would gladly go $120-130 shipped, but alas.

Rarely do I get excited over Model Ms anymore, but this one is really special.

Different plants changed over at different dates, but it seems that the new labels started appearing in or around june or july of that year.

You can check this by looking at the serial numbers in clickykeyboards' archive, since they changed the SNs to a longer format when they updated the label.

I am not particularly surprised.

Friday, somebody bought a 1995 used 82G for $92 shipped. That surprises me more than this.

It is only fair that there should be a large jump in price for truly rare and special top-shelf items.

This one selling for 2.5x the going rate for an ordinary specimen seems appropriate to me.

I would have bought it but the seller did not want to ship to Austria. I was thinking about finding a proxy. Congrats to whoever got this. Was it someone from GH?
