IBM M3 numeric keypad
« on: Mon, 30 June 2014, 04:21:45 »
ebay.com/itm/390862972288

I think this accompanies the M4 space saving keyboard somehow, connecting to the spare socket on that board.  But what cable is needed?
Now I've seen this one on Ebay, I see that the same product is also available on Amazon.  Has anyone used it?

you need to add the www or it just links you to ebay's homepage

Are you sure that one accompanies the M4 kb? I thought the version without the lid does. Maybe they both do.

Is this buckling spring?

should be buckling rubber sleeve, like the IBM M4 keyboard

There's only three IBM Buckling spring keypads I know of, the one that came with teh M15, there's some japanese one,a dn the IBM screen reader for blind people.

dorkvader: sorry, the ebay.com link works for me but it may depend on cookies etc, I'll put the www in future.

As you say this is surely the same switches as the M4 - buckling rubber sleeve.  I'm tempted to get one but I would need the cable to plug it into the M4.

Not sure if this info is any use to you, but heres some pictures of my 1396199: I have a few more pics if you want to know something specific. I never used mine, I just bought it for the box and because it was $7 and seemed nice.

This is a picture of the connections and the cable that came with mine. I have no clue if it is the right cable for connecting to an M4, but I would suspect so as it is IBM branded. PS2 to 8 pin terminal type, both ends match the sockets on the numpad.
