That ETA is very appealing, much quicker than most GB's

Thanks for the crosspost!

Would have missed this since I don't browse Deskthority as regularly anymore. Maybe I should change that again ;)

Might have to jump in on this...Been looking for a 60% recently and already have switches.  Though I'd have to pick up stabs and find a case.

Is there any functional difference between the FaceU PCB and a GH60 PCB, if I want a winkeyless layout? The only major difference is that GH60 comes in available with some more exotic layouts, right?
Please consider carefully before you decide to comment, for Jesus.

Isn't this the same thing as what Spirt is doing with his GB? Am I missing something?

These are replica PCBs of the ones that Sprit is selling.

It has backlighting also. The original FaceU PCB supports only ANSI, winkey or winkeyless and uses the ATmega32A instead of ATmega32U4. The choice of controller means that the protocol has to be done in firmware instead of hardware so you would have to use nothing else than the ps2avrU firmware, at least for a while.

This PCB is updated with support for ISO also and I think that the firmware has always supported ISO because it uses the same matrix for several keyboards if I am not mistaken ...

I have 0 experience with playing with keyboard firmware/programming.  I plan on using the face u replica in winkeyless ansi.  Do I have to worry about buying anything extra in order to get that to work?  Whenever I try to look into this stuff I just see a lot of technical jargon  about teensys, isp's, bootloaders and it all makes very little sense to me.

Bleh, it's just a re-run of face u, so everything is the same.
P.S. Those pcbs are open hardware.

That does not seem realistic.  They have to have a MOQ for getting the PCBs made.  I expect that they will need to get at least 50 to make a run.  I doubt that there will be a rolling ordering / producing / shipping schedule with PCBs being made on demand.  I think MOQs will need to be met and from then it will take about 2 weeks to produce them.  Don't expect to get a PCB in two weeks...

I could be wrong, but I thought face-U is copyrighted work and such replica (which completely copies the wiring of face-U, says whoever develops face-U replica, on EnjoyClick) should be prohibited.

It's open hardware.

I notice the "face U replica" keyboard PCB has an open hardware logo on it.

I have been looking into this, and it's possible that the replica is in violation of winkeyless.kr's copyright.

The electrical layout and firmware are all on github though.

Unfortunately, FaceU and MX mini, or A.87's design and copyrights are Not Free and paying all the Taxes.
This has been well respected for years.
If it were free, I should have posted all the details on the Community.

Who is doing dead-copying these?
Any agreement, any contribution to the HW or Software?
Any guarantee to support the members who may bought these?

The part of the Firmware is open-source based, But not all.  And this has been declared from the begining.
This is for the community members who are willing to work together to share the benefits,  Not for the dead-copy Pirates.

I thought this was all sorted out already on DT.  No need to bring it up again.
