Thanks for bringing this up! International users, please let me know the valuation you would like declared for customs. I have no problem using whatever value works best for you (within reason, ie. not $1)  :thumb:

My hope is to have everyone's order shipped by the end of September but this is all dependent on the fabrication shop. Currently we're still waiting for confirmation that our fresh batch of stainless has arrived.

I will probably send out a PayPal reminder to those users who haven't paid later this evening. Once those folks are taken care of I can submit the final numbers to the metal shop.

Still waiting on a few invoices to get paid. In the interest of keeping this moving for the other participants I'm going to assume that if you haven't paid by the end of the day on Friday, Sept 12 that you are no longer interested and cancel the invoice. If you need a little more time to pay or you never received an invoice please get in contact with me and I will be happy to work something out with you, but unless I hear otherwise all unpaid orders will be cancelled EOD Friday.

Final payment reminders have been sent. Any orders still unpaid by this time tomorrow will be cancelled. We still have more than enough paid orders to cover MOQ so I will be submitting final numbers to the fabrication shop this coming Monday.

im thinking of ordering 2 plates in order to convert 2 iso boards to ANSI, is there any perticular feel with the plate?Iis this for making your board havier/stiffer etc?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but orders have been closed for this round. I've already submitted the final numbers to the metal shop so I am unable to make any changes at this point.

To answer your question, the biggest benefit of these plates is that they have the cutouts to allow for switch top removal so you can swap out stems and springs or apply lube without having to desolder the switches. They will feel noticeably more rigid than an aluminum plate but should feel pretty much the same as the OEM carbon steel plates found on most plate mounted keyboards.

Out of curiosity:

How would you do that? Wouldn't that require a lot of re-wiring on the PCB?

pcb supports ansi too, i would desolder everything, swap the plate and solder everything back together.

Even if the board did support ANSI, the phantom plate might not line up nicely with your PCB.

There will possibly be one or two extras for each plate design, but I can't promise that. If there are extras I will make sure to let you know.

Sorry, orders are closed now. I've submitted the final counts for each design to the fabrication shop so I'm not able to make any further changes.

That would be awesome if you could. I would love the standard Phantom plate in US-ANSI layout. If you could PM me, I would really appreciate that.

Got the word today that they are ready to start cutting our plates so I should have them in hand very soon  :thumb:

I will more than likely be doing a round 3 of stainless plates (uTKL = r1, phantom = r2), but I'm not sure what it will be yet. I have some ideas for some really unique plates but I'm not sure there will be enough interest to make them viable. I will start an interest check thread for R3 once this round is over and see what people are thinking.

So, next round won't be phantom-specific?

I'm working with a shop that cuts metal ... and I'm about 80% sure I can match Strict's pay scale...but I'm wanting to sorta get that going so I can be done with the nailbiting part of the GB by November ...

Strict do you mind PM'ing me where you got the .dxfs?

Total noobsauce question:

Would there be any issues with cutting the plate to allow for a filco/qfr controller?

I'm supposed to hear from my guy at the production shop at the beginning of this week to let me know the order is complete. Since its a small local shop sometimes production can take a little while. I expect I will have all the plates in hand and ready to start packing up sometime this week.

Are there that many titanium plates out there?

I don't think too many. This guy has an example of a 60% Ti case that was from a GB run by Beast:

These came out super nice. I was very happy with the outcome of the plates from R1 and these are even better than those.

Realforce EK45 (Silenced)  |  Realforce 87UW (45g)  |  Realforce 87UWS (Variable)
Filco MJ2 TKL (Cherry Clears)  |  Phantom 87 (78g Gateron Clears)  |  Phantom 86 (67g Zealios)
