Yo-Yos
« on: Mon, 11 August 2014, 03:31:51 »
I was recently reminded of the yo-yo craze that hit around 1999-2000. I remember having some pretty ill yoyos, such as the Henrys Viper, Bumblebee, Yomega Brain, etc. I wanted a Silver Bullet w/ ball bearing but never got one. Anybody else remember this? ;D

This thread is relevant to my interests. No matter how much I diss Kendama ball-in-a-cup. :))

Will post some **** tomorrow here...

I used to have a purple aluminum thing, was fun as ****. It's actually probably still in storage somewhere in a box of crap.

I have heard that the YoYo was originally designed as a weapon...

I once had a generic brand yoyo, but it packed a bigger punch than some name brand ones :) It was similar to this one: http://yoyotricks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Yomega-Brain-Yoyo_001.jpg

From my memory yoyo's were a big thing in Poland as well :) Always wanted a Bumblebee...was too pricy though ;-)
Oh the years when kids just played with what they were given and made the best fun out of it :)

I still have my old collection. Just don't have the heart to get rid of them. Still love shooting the moon with my trusty old red saber raider.

Getting decent yoyos in South Africa was a serious challenge went through many many cheapies. Probably the only reason I still don't mess around is they are all broken :(

Love me some yo-yos.  Should we made a Geekhack Yo-Yo Team too?   :p

I've got a few, but I think they're at my parent's house still, I need to find them.

Old school meets new school. Yomega Wing Force aluminum, and a high-tech Freeze Wyvern which is actually an OEM Shinwoo Techno II with better YYF pads and stickers for slightly longer sleep times than the Shinwoo. I actually bought it because the name sounded like a Megama X boss though. :P
