In this past month I've spent 500 already, which is for my custom i'm building. This is not including the other 400 I've spent on other keyboards

I did the math last weekend. If we count what's tipped in PuLSE right now, plus a couple buys that haven't produced yet, I'm at $2,101.08 USD this year alone.
I spent just a frogs hair under $300 on Granite R1 and R2 combined.
I decided I didn't like where Delete was positioned on my MiniLa and bought a Poker II, and less than a week after that arrived Massdrop had them with MX Clears.
I just up and gave away my Das Ultimate from 2008.

What is wrong with me? Why do I have so many keysets in a box and not on a board?

Close to 4000...

and the only "pricey item" I have, would be the lightsaver.
Spent almost 800 to almost have it where I want it.
Now just need them acrylic inserts

Having new switches (stickered & lubed clear top clear mx) put in since the change couldn't be made over at Duck.
soldering/assembly, shipping (thing weighs a ton)...
some gmk cyrillic for it.

I paid something similar for my Orion. Lubed vintage Clears, clear tops, stickers and the keycaps to match require some searching, a whole lot of shipping and money. Still waiting for the matching inserts as well .

I've only bought one keycap set @ $75.

I've only bought 2 aftermarket CCs @ good prices (rest were obtained through CC sales and trades).

I've only kept 1 QFR and 1 55g Realforce. Sold everything else I've tried at very minimal loss (great part about this hobby).

Model Ms and ALPS boards were nabbed at thrift stores and ecyclers.

So between my wife and I, I'd say we are $500-600 in maybe and have had a ton of fun trying out a mess of ****.

Got a compact G80 with blacks from Sixty for like 5€. Liked it so much that I grabbed a 25€ vintage blacks full-size on eBay. Sooo.. 30 bucks.

$700 but then I returned one to Amazon.com and sold one for $80 so about $470 in the hole right now. I currently own three and if I can decide which I like best I'll sell the other two and probably be out about $250 or so once you include loss to selling used equipment vs buying new.

Lets see.. two Das, a Unicomp, a BlackWidow, a K70, various rubber domes before I came to GeekHack.

129.00 + 117.39 + 113.16 + ~120 + ~137 + ~50 = 666.55

And afterwards I went in for an Eagle, a GON 60, Granite and bonus caps, Vortex bklit dbl caps x2, Bluetooth keyboard adapter,

(265.76 + 9.25) + 508.30 + (278.34 + 50.75) + 63.95 + 45.54 = 1221.89

TOTAL: $1888.44

****, that's a bit more than I expected. Well, my estimate didn't take into consideration pre-Geekhack I guess. All prices include shipping. Crap I forgot about that 60% aluminum case I bought, I forget what that cost. And then the cost of shipping those old Razer keycaps from the freebie forum. Anyway, close enough.

I still need a programmable tenkey to pair with my 60% keyboards. I already have the keycaps for it. Somewhere down I might pick up a Poker II, a HHKB Pro 2, a Das 4, and maybe a CODE. Probably used, just to try them out and sell the ones I don't like. I also need a nice SA keycap set, but that'll pretty much round out the collection.

There's a good chance some of my unused keyboards will go up for sale in the next year, but I'll keep one for each computer plus a couple of spares for redundancy. Never know when I'm going to pour a pint of dark and stormy over a board and need a backup.

I eventually settled on an HHKB: an HHKB Pro JP (still have my HHKB Pro 2, which is hooked to my MacMini / TV / amp and which I hardly ever use).

Most expensive was my NIB Cherry MX-5000 ISO (from the italian auction where the seller would only sell to italy) : 228 EUR. I still have it and probably won't lose much on that MX-5000 if I decide to sell it, same for my real industrial Model Ms and my four "semi-industrial" Model Ms (made from NOS top+bottom industrial shell cases from Unicomp).

I also bought my two HHBK directly in Japan at -30% and had a relative ship them for free to me.

If I were to sell everything but my daily (HHKB Pro JP), I'd probably break even.

I've also gotten around $120 in gifts, and made back $35 from selling things.

There's a ton of stuff I still want to buy though, but it's all going to vary depending on how much I like some of my current projects.

Yeah, when I was looking at my history of purchases, things didn't really go sideways until I started picking up OTD boards.
