I'm in the same boat.  I did stray a little from what their main hobbies were and am a little worried I went too far, but hopefully they like at least part of the gift.   

I pretty much went to a list but must have wrapped a dozen things

I completely forgot to wrap the contents of my package

I think I used almost a whole roll of paper. I was just lucky, had paper from two years ago! I also sent the worst Xmas card ever, oh my.

The post office interrogated me about my package, was like, "it's a SECRET Santa, fawkkkkk". Gotta play the vague game for sure.

I didnt get tracking :/ Maybe the tracking requirement is just so that there is more proof of shipment (say like a package never arrives but "I shipped" and nubs can check the tracking to see if there is an issue on the shippers end)?

In the past, the receiver has never gotten the tracking, just nubs.  It would be quite a bit of extra work, and my understanding is that it's moreso to be a check in case nothing arrives, as you've said.

so I got my gift yesterday and I was really impatient and decided "screw it, I'll just open it now" and so I did

the first thing I saw was a little envelope that said "open this last"

I then turn my attention to the chips. unfortunately, the tri-sum bag exploded during shipping, but the barbeque chips were fine and undamaged. both of them are very good.

then I saw a little gift box and opened it up, despite being covered in chips(don't worry, they were delicious). I opened it up, and I find a bro stump on a handmade switch holder with a 78g Gateron Blue. just holy ****, if this was the only present I had gotten, I would have been perfectly content, but this guy goes above and beyond.

I then see a wrapped rectangular package that is relatively heavy due to its size. I tear it open and find a two book set of peanuts comics from 1995-1998. this guy must have seen how I got screwed out of my peanuts Santa gift over on reddit

then I read the note, and it describes how each gift was chosen. but wait, the note mentions a Matias click switch with an MX adapter... where is it? I dig through the the chips in the box and find it, and it is perfectly unharmed.

inanis, thank you so much. this is one of the best gifts I've ever received, from a guy I barely know. this is what makes gh an amazing community. I hope each and every one of you receive a gift that you enjoy as much as I do, and linkshine, enjoy that infinity(he already figured out it was me too!)

I'm so glad you liked everything! And I'm so dissapointed that the chips exploded. Lesson learned, next time I need a bigger box. 

I had originally meant to make a Matias switch holder, but I was worried I wasn't going to get the switches in on time, so I went with a customzied Gateron. I figured it'd be a fun desk toy. And you can't go wrong pairing blue with the dark brown, so the Stump was a natural choice to go atop it. I don't know much about Peanuts, but I do like a good book, so it is hard to go wrong there.

And while I'm not a dude in physical form, we are all dudes here.
