Anyone get the new WoW expansion?

Just curious - I picked it up and would be interested in questing with fellow GH'ers if some of you bought the new xpac. My battletag is BAMF#1263. You can add me on battle.net and we can hook up. Login queues are horrid though.

I waited from 4:00pm - 7:00pm to log in, zoned in for literally a minute and Mal Ganis(server) crashed and now I'm back in queue for who knows how long.

I'm on a high population server. I kinda wish I would have x-fer to another low pop server just to be able to level in peace, but that is kinda ridiculous and a waste of money.

Everyone keeps talking about this being a horrible launch for Blizzard. I guess it's what happens when everyone migrates to one zone...

Oh yeah, all of those character services are just highway robbery. Didn't they at one point offer free realm xfers off high population servers to low pop servers? Might have been a while ago....

Yeah they have definitely done free high to low pop Xfers in the past.

I picked up the digital deluxe version.  I was playing 10 minutes or so after it went live.  Looks great so far.  Haven't replaced any gear yet.  I play a combat rogue on Nathrezim.  It is a low pop server and one of the few remaining original servers left.  I started playing the spring after release of vanilla.  My main is and always has been my first toon created.  My undead rogue.  Been raiding him as combat since BC and never changed specs.  Through the highs and lows I have always been very competitive in my guilds.

Hell yeah. Rogues have been a solid class overall as much as anything. Especially since they have been great sources of dmg in raids at times and consistently awesome in pvp as well. I played a Mage from day 1 of Vanilla on Mal Ganis. Sold that account towards to end of vanilla. I've been a hunter since the start of BC, never looked back. I would have never though this game and my interest in it would have lasted if you asked me at the end of vanilla, but here I am.

I'm on a low pop realm and I'm thankful. I play on Baelgun/Doomhammer. Pretty decent queues (less than 10 minutes). I'm alliance side though.

I'm on a large pop realm and I have been queued up literally all day After about 5 hours, I finally got on for maybe a minute and then my server went offline and it was back to the Q for me. At least GH is back up

The forums on WoW's website are not a pleasant place to be right now.  Lots of upset people.  It's a shame this launch is going so badly, you'd think they would be prepared for something like this.

Coming back to play WoW during the launch of a new expansion is the worst idea any WoW-lover can have.

Most high populated servers are locked.

You literally get booted out when connected to the server because the queue is just way too long.

Waited for about 3hours to get into the game yesterday, and started at around 1am svt.. was still laggy.

You'd think that after so many years, things would change..

Never give up! Launch is rough, but it'll smooth out soon I hope.
I got in a good, lag-free hour of play at about 3am after several disconnects. I'm waiting for my second break.

I got it a while back (so I could get the lvl90 upgrade for an Alliance toon), gonna wait for the issues to be fixed / initial rush to be over before I take a look. It's actually been a while since I last logged in anyway.

Back in TBC, my server Burning Blade was basically unplayable for 3 weeks.
We'd be up and down, and roll back, and crash.
Blizz actually gave people gametime credit because of it.

and wtf expansion costing $50.00 -_-

Yeah, wasn't MOP $39.99? I remember the MOP launch being relatively smooth, I was definitely able to play on launch day at least, you're right about Burning Crusade though. I forgave them for that debacle since it was their first major expansion and there were bound to be some hiccups.

regretting having 2 toons on Area 52 and 4 toons on Korgath right now... both have queues of like 6000+

Have a Rogue on Terenas, super low pop and can actually play the 90-100 quests

Ugh, I am still waiting for Protoss expansion to come out. Seems as though Blizzard is really slow with Starcraft.

Ah nice, I played a resto shaman all the way up through Cataclysm as my main. I recently decided to try out druid healing for this expansion, liking it so far!

So, were a few days into the expansion, and I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks.  I personally am having a lot of fun leveling.  Garrisons are AWESOME, I thought at first they were going to be stupid, but I'm really liking how they've added something to the game that feels "mine."  The environment is absolutely spectacular, and the quests are a lot of fun as well.
