I'm actually in the market for a new keyboard as well.  I have a Leopold Tenkeyless with red switches... it's been plagued with bugs for a while now (chattering every 4 or so words is the new bug.  Previously I had to send it in for a broken and stuck shift key).

Noppoo's are 65% off on Amazon... I'm debating getting one

None - I don't really like MX reds.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

**** reds every day. Honestly my least favourite switch. Linear switches in general I can't stand anymore. I thought I liked blacks, but it turns out I don't.

I just need some feedback maaaaan...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Are you asking because you want to find a good Cherry MX Red board for yourself or do you just want to hear opinions? If the latter, I'm also going to say none as I'm not really a big fan of Cherry switches.

^^ This.

I figured after some people here mentioned how good Ghost Blacks were that I should give them a try. So I bought a board with Blacks. Then I got to work with my switch tools and converted some of the switches to different linear types: "Reds" (Black with Brown spring), 62g Blacks, Ghost Blacks (Blacks with Clear springs) and left some stock. I added trampolines to half of each type so I could test all variants with and without them. I tried a few keycap types on them too (SA profile, GMK doubleshots, DCS).

And the conclusion? I don't like linear switches. The 62g variant is the best, but I still don't like them.

I like MX Clears and particularly 62g ErgoClears. All the other MX switch types pale in comparison to me. Browns don't have enough tactility, clicky switches sound horrible to my ears (cheap and plasticky sounding, especially compared to a Model F), linears are not my thing.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Cherry mx switches of any kind are my least favorite. However, Cherry mx keyboards with reds that I could recommend include the Filco Majestouch TKL Ninja and WASD V2 87. These two keyboards use Costar-type stabilizers, which I favor for the stability and crisp action they confer on stabilized keys. If you want a board with Cherry stabilizers (which make it easier to change keycaps on stabilized keys but feel mushy to me), I can recommend the Kul ES-87.

lol nice recommendations so far.

I use reds currently and like em (linears) a lot more than blues from before.

My next keyboard will probably be a WASD v2 (barebones) with blacks, but it also comes in reds.

Just say NO to ABS keycaps

I know I will catch hell for this - but I like the reds in the Corsair K65 better than either the WASD V2, KUL ES87, or Ducky Zero.

I'm not supposed to like it right?  Gaudy massproduced gamer board w/ semi rubberdome layout - but I enjoyed the reds on it very much.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. My friend on the forum here, aref, shares the same feelings as you do regarding the k65. I suppose Corsair got a good batch of reds for those keyboards. As for my recommendations, I would not hesitate in recommending any of the aforementioned boards in this thread, however, my friends recently acquired KUL ES-87 had some of the scratchiest reds I have ever felt in my life. Some of them were so scratchy, there was an audible whistle on the downstroke. I suggested he lube the switches to remediate the problem.

Out of curiosity, what would actually cause a batch to be so much better than others?

KUL is probably one of the best stock keyboards you can buy

Noppoo Choc Mini for sure, feels amazing to type on.
I also own the KUL ES-87 but I just cannot stand using it what so ever, it's just so hard to switch from 75% - TKL for me, I really do not know why.
