CV-100 Endoscope Keyboard
« on: Mon, 01 December 2014, 05:21:28 »
I've found this keyboard yesterday. It's near mint condition. Probably never used. It belongs to an old Olympus CV-100 endoscope. Is there a way to connect it to a modern computer through USB or PS2 protocol?
I need some information about.
What kind of switch is that?

Well, I'm not sure what connector or protocol that uses, but since it looks pretty nonstandard, something tells me you'd have to hook it up to a teensy. As for the switches, aren't those Hi-Tek soap dispensers? I can't seem to find a picture anywhere so I'm just going off memory

I don't think they are NMB Hi-Tek judging from the DT wiki deskthority.net/wiki/NMB_Hi-Tek
They look like almost Fujitsu Peerless but I'm not shure

Yeah, now that I'm looking those certainly aren't any variation, guess I didn't look at the wiki hard enough. But it also doesn't look like either version of peerless. I just know I've seen those somewhere

I have one of those keyboards. Haven't figured out the protocol, but I might use it for my protocol reverse engineering demo at the SF Bay Area meetup this weekend :D

I'm actually going to Italy in a few weeks (though just for skiing if snow permits) around Dolomite. Someday I'll make it to Europe for keyboard things :D

Yeah, a lot of those Fujitsu sliders aren't even listed at all yet (not even as a missing picture):

Did a quick check of the protocol. Looks nice, has press and release :D

Should be able to make a full converter for this one. I'll be using it as one of the demos during the meetup as it's a good example of an ideal case.
