[Ebay] 11 ibm/unicomp m 122 key
« on: Fri, 02 January 2015, 22:41:34 »
Currently at $209 with free shipping.  Assuming you get it around that price, I would say it is a decent deal.

Edit: forgot link

Edit 2. If I'm not mistaken is the one with the square metal logo a first gen?

Edit 3. It also appears one might be a standard model m.  The one on the right third from bottom

I thought about bidding. It was a buy-it now I think he must have converted it to an auction.
I could use some more M122s to build.

You should!  Means I'm not tempted to bid on stuff I don't need and I get to see more of your work!

Square metal badge on right does not mean first generation, although it would probably be an easier mod for an F-122 replacement than the later iterations.

Look for the large button on the side of the case and large 2-stage legs.

I did end up getting this lot, so expect some more M122s coming from me over the next month or so.
PM if you want any custom jobs done, I can do ISO to ANSI and hybrid ANSI/ISO
I can split keys and turn the num-pad into a matrix layout, or make it more standard (2u + button)

Wow, Ezra, good for you and good for us!

I'm not buying Ms anymore, but your low cost basis will really make Ms affordable to many more people.
Most of the modding can be done on your own once you break through the psychological barriers.

There even exist square metal badge 122-key model Ms with the "small" feet like the 1391401 has, so you have to be really careful without a picture of the back if you are looking for one to replace the top cover of your 122-key model F with.

edit: clarification (see below)

I thought that this was strictly about the 122-key models.

Yes, the 1390131 is my favorite variant and is just like the early 1391401 except for square metal badge on right instead of oval plastic label left.
