Finally a keyboarder like all of you!
« on: Sat, 10 January 2015, 00:24:15 »
After about a years worth of intense research, I come here after my girlfriend was nice enough to get my this amazing keyboard.

From browsing, I have definitely seen this little community pop up more than once in google, and I hope to learn much from all of you. I hope to be able to bring to the table as much as I can here, and I hope to learn as much as I can from you more experienced people.

Just from using this keyboard (filco tkl majestouch ninja with browns) for roughly 2 weeks, I already cant stand using my laotops standard keyboard. I feel like I could enjoy writing out a book on this machine!

Call me Matt, I am from Massachusetts. If anyone needs advice on sailing, and sailboats, feel free to approach me.

Hope to have fun with all you cuties!

Thanks guys! And yes, I am. Looking at the silly novelty keycaps for my escape and backspace keys. One keycap set that really appealed to me was the coffee set, but we'll see. Right now the priority is lubing up the backspace stabilizer properly. The squeak is driving me nuts.

And the mouse is my girlfriends. Its quite nice, but the desktop I have at home has my Zowie FK1. Now that mouse, that thing is amazing.

Welcome to Geekhack!

Nice Filco :)  And they have a standard layout, so most standard keycap sets should fit!

KeyPop seems to have sold out of the Coffee set R2 for now.  I might have heard rumours that R3 might run via GMK, who produce very nice keycap sets indeed.  Bide your time on that one - start saving so you will be ready if/when it happens!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
