I nominate demik because he loves his alps board and would never trade it for anything, not even an hhkb

I am going to have to nominate CPTBA on this one.  There are few on gh that push the love of alps as much as him and then there is the fact that the cap in question here is pink.  In addition, he would most likely do a full review and write up with nice pictures on the cap.
wut. i'd buy a ****ty IBM board for that green V2

Although it would be neat to see an Alps Octopink just like the Buckling Spring Jack O Lantern that was made recently.
It would also be nice if it went to someone who wouldnt modify it and kept it as the original stem that Clack made. Either would be cool.
I know 3Love would keep it original and cherish it in his rather large collection. Some may think of him as being able to get anything he wants but thats what we thought about many others, like eth0s told me he never had an octopink before I traded him one. It is hard to get this color in a nice collection. So I vote it goes to a collector who will cherish the color.

I nominate Binge, as he has helped me tremendously on my keycap _idea_. I'm not even sure at this point if it's going to work or not, but I feel that without Binge, this project would have been doomed to begin with. Another reason why I nominate Binge is that he's usually in the IRC hanging out, sandy beaches and all that jazz, making the channel a really fun place. (I may add more stuff idk)

I'll start off by saying I know I don't have 50 posts as I'm much more of a lurker but trying to become more active, however with that being a rule, if my submission gets picked feel free to give whatever I would have got to someone else, I just wanted to make sure I got in my nominee even though I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Brocaps:
Not only is he by far the active artisan cap maker currently around (ignoring Clack's amazing event going on right now), he is constantly adding more to the community and not just ours but keyboard communities in general, for example today he posted his new stumps on /r/mk even though they act childish and continually trash talk us and their entire existence seems to be to spam GeekWhack in their blind Ripster circlejerking. He even went as far as to promise he would update people on there when his sale went live over here. Always great to see someone being the bigger man. On top of that he's constantly trying to improve everything about his image, be it new designs, new stems, new sale methods, or just general great customer service.  He recognizes that sometimes people get really disheartened by not getting in on his sales and provides multiple opportunities after almost every single sale for people who are broless, slowly allowing everyone to get their treasured cap, and quite a few times at no cost to them.

When his new cap, stump, had some issues w/ topre boards he instantly offered returns/trade ins to anyone who had one, obviously something like this seems like the norm, but as someone who has never used ebay, or craigslist or anything like that having such a great experience interacting with some random guy selling pretty pieces of plastic on some forum really makes you feel welcomed and safe to fully take part in the community.  I could write more about what he has done for this community or even just keyboard enthusiasts in general but I'm very bad at formatting and I'm sure this is already a huge confusing run on sentence so I'll leave it at that.

Honorable Mentions (because I would feel bad for not mentioning them):
*Ctrlalt.io (more specifically bunnylake as he seems to be the face of the company): that advent give away, random steam give aways, and other give aways I've seen, as well as being one of the sexiest and easiest to navigate websites I've seen in awhile (as an ex web designer it always makes me happy to not have to search or cringe at colors on "nerd/enthusiast esq websites)
*Riotonthebay: For hosting his own, for the broless give away which resulted in my receiving my first artisan cap ever :D

Hey nubbs,

I would like to nominate codyeatworld as I think he does a lot of behind the scenes work for Ctrl.Alt who in turn is a big part of our community here. Coding isn't easy, and he does a lot of stuff to make everything run smooth, from Bro raffles to group buys. I think he deserves a reward or two!

I would like to use my reward as another nomination, this time to nominate intelli78. I really liked his recent post about being wallet-hacked, and he seems like a really chill guy in the community. He has been super helpful and always willing to talk, and I think his recent post took a lot of guts to post online.

I nominate hwood34

Hwood has helped me a lot since I joined this community, and is always a fun guy to chat with. He's really chill and has lots of knowledge on keyboards and photography. He's currently helping me make a good photography setup, so I can take good pictures of keyboards ;D

And I think hwood is clackless in the recent sales, plus he loves alps, so an alps click clack would be a really cool reward for all the work he's done. :thumb:

You want to adulterate CC's works of art?

If CC wanted to make Alps Clacks, he would! :p

And actually I just realised that this is MX, but it can still live on, on my QFS along with the Nuclear Green set.  Octopink and Nuclear Green - a nice combination :D

I nominate rowdy for the Octopink Skull (left in its natural and unadulterated MX form).

rowdy consistently makes constructive and/or supportive posts, and is keen to help new members.  Sometimes it seems like rowdy is the only one posting in New Members :))

rowdy has never flipped a Clack for profit.  In fact he has kept every single Clack he has been fortunate enough to collect!

According to the terms of the giveaway, I understand that if rowdy wins as a result of this nomination, he will receive the Octopink Skull, but I would not be eligible to win the complementary Reactor Core Green (GID) MX Bro Bot as nominator - rowdy and I are fine with that, just the Octopink Skull would be a very welcome addition to his collection.

Thank you very much nubbs for this fun little giveaway.

Good luck everyone, and I hope whoever does win enjoys their prize :D

+1
This guy deserves it.

I'd rather it go to a user who does something for the community than a collector.

This reminds me of one person who is always behind the scene who has contributed big time to the community but is often not known, because he was always stuck in a dungeon with all the soldering iron and machines without any internet connection. He even recently surface to apologize to people but I'd imagine he shouldn't need to, since he has tried his best. I am not sure if he has any Clack, as he hardly surface himself to the Therapy thread or the Clackvent, spending most of his time churning out JD40s. But I think he definitely deserve a skull for his effort. He's no other than mr margo baggins.

In this case, I have nominated Rowdy for this competition - it wouldn't seem right to confuse the identify of the members by referring to him by means of the perpendicular pronoun.

I've never met him, properly introduce myself or even in a proper long chat with him
But one thing I know , he's humble, good photographer and has a very good taste in term of matching colours (keycaps) on all his boards
He also has a very respectable collection from my pov
It always bring me smiles and excitement every time he post a photo or even looking at his signature

If this is agreeable:

1)BunnyLake, for being the truest gent. He's been above and beyond generous, and from just the few interactions I've had with him, I can tell I see eye to eye with this person.

2)JQuinn, because chastised by RNGefjun doesn't even begin to describe it lol

i know this was already mentioned quite a few times (mostly by himself!) but i would like to throw another nomination for rowdy for taking upon himself the dirty role of being the forum walmart door greeter for newcomers like me. geekhack seems to have this elitist image that puts off alot of potential readers (but perhaps in a good way) and having someone like rowdy being there welcoming and answering noob questions, which may have already been asked a few thousand times, gives it enough friendly vibe to be worth the stay.

Me too and I don't get it.  I dove right in and felt welcomed when I came.  I saw a lot of hate on /r/mk before coming, but never saw any of that attitude.  The only time I ever see it pop up is when someone new comes in and basically demands free stuff or is standoffish from the get go.  If you come in with sincere and honest questions, there's usually someone there to help out.

I think most of the hate comes from /r/mk, because I cannot think of another place or time where I have seen an elitist image.

That was my experience as well (even including coming from /r/mk).  Granted, that was a couple years ago at this point, and things have changed a bit.  And it usually only takes one bad experience to taint the experience of the whole site, so there's that too.

demik is at demik level 100K and counting ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I nominate Sent.

His work with [CTRL]Alt is doing wonders for me.

The blog he works on is something to look forward to that, in my opinion, brings to light the parts of the community we seem to forget. His interviews bring so much discussion about what's going on with the community, recent events, vendors and just GeekHackers in general. A lot of the times i seem to forget that people like BunnyLake, PunksDead, and other popular members, are exactly that. Members. They arent a business or something like that, but they are still community members that would like to be involved like everyone else instead of them constantly having to think of a full PR response when they want to post anything.
Much more respect and understanding for everyone since you never hear their side.

Going back to the point, his work has brought me to getting more involved in the community. I post a bit more often, get involved a bit more by helping others out when I can and just see myself as a different person.

Sent was nice enough to send me a gift for being a runner-up on the Christmas contest and it ended up meaning a lot more to me than winning the contest would have.

Sent is a nice guy trying to get the community to get involved via the blog and he's doing some great work there

Honorable mentions are the [CTRL]Alt crew.

I dont want anything from this. Just want to show my appreciation.

Toss my winnings (if any) over to Signature for trying to raise money for Psybin when he lost his ring.

I would like to nominate Rowdy.

One of the reasons I am still here is because rowdy was so generous and kind answering all my questions when I was a noob.  He continues to be a wonderful person to new members and always makes them feel comfortable and helps them find the information they are looking for.  He always has a positive attitude and he is always constructive with his comments. He is a wonderful ambassador for our community.

When I am having a bad day I go to the 'just post awww' thread and his excellent contributions always bring a smile to my face. :)

If that is not enough, I know he appreciates CCs work, but does not always have the means to be able to throw his hat into the ring when there are sales.  When he can try for CCs, he is geographically disadvantaged since he is in Australia and the latency is very high and unpredictable.

I want to nominate photeq for being a bro and being smart with creating his GMK sets and timing them with the others.  Although I haven't interacted with him much recently, he is always helpful to members especially when it comes to older boards.  Standup guy.
