While a bit weird, raises the question, what is the most ridiculous keyboard thing or otherwise you have ever purchased?

where to even begin...

Most things ordered off Amazon at 5am after drinking a bottle of rum. Most recently coffee enema and an enema bag. I have never had an enema before, have no intention of ever having one, and yet there it sits on my kitchen counter. I don't even remember ordering it.

OK, that is REALLY ridiculous.

But since it's on your kitchen counter, may as well offer it to guests.

"Hi, can I offer you a drink? Oh, you don't like rum? Here, you can try out a coffee enema."

Probably not ridiculous but the last purchase I really regretted was a vintage double edge razor. Spent some insane amount of money on it because I was drunk and didn't give a ****, never even used it because I had like 10 other razors that I preferred.

Thank goodness I don't have to deal with drunken eBaying any more, that was a big problem for me when I was still drinking.

My friend and I dumped some money into a really (and I mean REALLY) cheap drift missile that we spent a day trashing, realized it was crap and sold all within a few hours. RIP that poor pos car.

I find the concept of stock in a football team so interesting. Are the Packers the only ones to do that?

Yep! We're the only publicly owned team.  :)  and we've had a few stock sales (maybe 6?)

I love it. It's a huge reason our fans are so passionate, actually having a stake in the team.

Of course, the stock doesn't mean anything in practicality. But I can attend shareholder meetings and vote on executives, so there's that. And I know that I helped support the upgrades to the stadium.  :D

It's too bad the NFL made it so no other team can do it.  The Packers are one of the most affordable and loved teams because of being shareholder owned.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Um...That Alphasmart Neo is pretty great. Besides the Hemmingwrite, is there a mechanical option? I'm pretty sure I need it.

Ridiculous things I've bought? Nothing I buy is ridiculous. I'm like Hoff!

Edit: Wait, I bought a broken keyboard which is like 7 pounds and didn't work on my computer. Does that count? Also I just realized the article links to Geekhack @.@

If you succeed you must tell everyone about it. They'll be crazy to build 60% buckling springs.

And as for me, the most ridiculous things I ever bought were... a gigantic glass dildo (for female friend getting married, and no, it's one of the novelty things not meant to be used). The most bizarre thing was, she happily displayed it along with her other wedding presents, but somehow her other relatives didn't seem to have noticed EVEN THOUGH SHE SHONE A SPOTLIGHT ON IT. The bottom was hidden by some other presents and the top by another plant hanging down.

My home is a wonderland of weird gadgets. But I would hardly say they are ridiculous.  :))

Perhaps the Philips Hue lights, the $400 backpack, the couple hundred dollars in tea or the giant blacklight might apply.
I did consider buying a Tipi tent a few years back because it was ridiculously cheap but I was too poor at the time.

But no, nothing comes to mind that I regretted buying in the end.

Well, maybe one thing.
The shiny purple/pink shirt that I got as a 14 year old was perhaps a bit too much for the public.
