Switch ID help
« on: Fri, 06 March 2015, 21:19:54 »
Anyone know what type of switch this is? It's from an Acer Future keyboard but doesn't feel like typical rubber domes. Any ideas?

I'm back.

Thanks, nubs. Are they crappy?  I'm embarrassed to say they seem kindof okay.

I mean, I guess ever just so slightly because the keypresses have a little less wobble. Still not good though.

Better than membrane, worse than Topre.  So they're not utter ****e, but they're not great either.

Already explained by above posters but hey if it feels good to you then that's great. Some rubber domes don't feel that bad.

With a little lube, time, and getting used to, many things you wouldn't expect to feel good start to feel good.

I'm going to play dumb.  Please explain further.

On a naughty note my guilty pleasure is I find the silver and black hp business keyboards pretty good to type on.

What makes you think that they don't use a membrane? Dome over PCB is comparatively rare.

I was meaning better feeling than the straight ultra crappy membrane boards you get that feel like mush.  I phrased it poorly.
