Happy Hacking Pro 2 Disconnecting issue
« on: Sat, 18 April 2015, 05:14:35 »
Hi, I've had my happy hacking pro 2 for about a year now and now I'm starting to have problem with mine. Whenever I move the keyboard or the USB wire, my keyboard would disconnect and reconnect and this only happens whenever I move the keyboard. Why is this happening? how did the port become loose? How might I fix it?

Does it have the same issue with other cables?
Have you tried opening it and seeing if the issue is evident?
If you have, have you taken pictures?

Yeah I have tried it with another cable and no I haven't opened it. I'm not sure if it's safe to do so or how to do it.

It should be a simple matter of unscrewing the case and taking that off. Not sure how that could be considered unsafe.

I opened it. The issue isn't evident as the problem is inside the tiny port. It's the tiny black chip inside the port that that moves whenever I hit the wire. Not sure if this is normal or a design flaw.

Are you referring to the mini usb b connector? sounds like you need a new one.

Perhaps. I opened it up and saw that it's attached to the keyboard. Not sure how to remove it or how to get a replacement for it.

I have a spare HHKB Pro 2 controller board available, if you want to replace it, PM me or get one of Hasu's programmable controllers.

I did not know about Hasu's controller. Are there any real benefit for choosing Hasu's alternative over the standard controller board?
