1907 30% Keyboard - 30 keys + 2 mods and space.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-ANTIQUE-VINTAGE-1907-Junior-typewriter-The-smallest-keyboard-ever-produced-/321729766354

I can see only 29 keys + 2 mods and space. :)

So all the time they were telling us that the staggered layout was unavoidable because of the levers, and it was a LIE!!??

It's a gorgeous device!

And I only see 28, a space, and two mods

Yes, you are correct: 29 keys (counting space) + 2 modifiers.

Hey, I'm an engineer/computer scientist. I can apply Green's Theorem to the Navier-Stokes equations to be able to find an approximate solution numerically, but I can't count  ;D

Anyway... Nice find.

Do you know if this typewriter is still more or less functional? It looks like it is in very good condition.

Buying more keycaps,

Good call. :)

It can also be reversed, for those who like their 2U spacebar on the bottom.

Nah, force those plebs to insert their stabs upsidedown.

Edit: I read revised not reversed
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

That is so amazing. If I had money I'd be all over that. XD

Hmm, here's my random go at a 30-key:

http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/#/layouts/edf0b86cbca1eb1c3e14183bdf456869

Not a ton of thought has gone into this. Bottom board is the Fn layer. There's a shift lock because I'm too tired to figure out where a normal shift would work. I guess this would be a good use of that spacefn thing. There's no way to use keyboard shortcuts like ctrl+v on this. I'd have to play with this a lot more lol
- IBM 4704 Model F 107-key "Bertha"
Other boards: Kinesis Essential, Infinity(G.Clears), Ergodox(MX Blues), Monoprice 9433

Eternally searching for Celestial Blue BS V2 and blue/purple Bros.

While a manual typewriter doesn't need a key assigned to carriage return and line feed, a computer keyboard certainly does. :)

Unless you want to include a lever for it, like on the Qwerkywriter.

You most certainly need the two non-alphas to be shift and enter, while space does double duty as Fn.
