Damn, this is probably the only night this year I'll go to bed early and have to get up and out in the morning so I'll probably miss the sale unless the mods are all too hungover to notice and approve it.

Hope it goes well :)

Wow, great work! I especially like the way the colors are blending together on the pink and yellow RWarriors.
Very strawberry lemonade-y, yum~  ^-^

I have been calling them apple and strawberry. They are one of my favourite colour blends, but I have been unable to re-create the vibrant red I had in one. The best one was an accident and I turned it into a keychain.

I have been adorning my boards with my bstock. Most of these are broken on the bottom or the back of the keycap. I also received some nice surprise keycaps from jerue :)

Sorry about the Fn colour. I will blame that on the photo. I kept all of my keycaps in the same position as shown in the photo to make sure I could pick the right ones. I'm glad you liked some of them :)

Sorry - seems I came of as critical (it's just how I am - anything can be improved) but I'm actually really impressed and I like all three of the caps.  Bubbles are the biggest problem and seems you've solved that already so it's just a matter of refining your sculpting technique which is just down to practice, which you haven't had much of.

A purple FN was my second choice so no complaints at all, it just looked much more blue in the picture so I was surprised.  If I were to pick the cap I received from the pic I would guess it's F9 rather than F1 - quite a difference!

I've just sold off practically all my artisans as they didn't match the Hack'd by Geeks keyset I'm using but both of yours are as perfect a colour match as is possible with handmade caps so they're keepers.  Not that you knew that when making them, but it's a great coincidence :)

I'm looking forward to the next sale, especially if you have more of that orange dye :D

I did a bit of unrelated lead casting this weekend as I was thinking about metal. I wouldn't produce any lead keycaps because it's not the greatest material as well as the health risks. But I am interested to explore this avenue. I am also looking to pick up some more resin as I have exhausted my supply. The sale seems to have gone smoothly, but I only hope the less local orders get to their destination.

I have also done some other sculpting as well as some keycap stress testing. The keyboardhugs can take quite a hit from a hammer.

A hammer?!  Surely anyone who bought a keyboardhug is going to be nice to their keyboard and caps :))  I guess it's good to know they'll survive a fall from a table onto a hard floor though.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with whether it be resin or metal, and I hope the postman is friendly to all your customers wherever they may be :)

Wow man I haven't checked out this thread in a while and you have made so much great progress!  Sorry I missed the sale I would definitely have been in on it... was that an airbrush in one of the pics?  Do you paint them with that or use dyed resin? Or both?  Anyway keep it up looks awesome man!

Thanks! And the sculpts are all done by hand. If that's what you mean. The moulding is a hands on process but you don't do a lot.

On a couple I painted the inside of the mould with pigment before pouring the resin. I have done this in conjunction with coloured resin with some interesting results.
I am also really liking what you,re doing :)

Bread and toasters. The bread is not quite there yet but I am quite happy with the toasters. The toasters are going to be BS, I just slapped a mx stem on half way through moulding.

These are my successful BS caps made today. Only one has been unsuccessful so far. I have chosen to go with one piece construction as I can make them thicker and this makes them more accessible. They are a little trickier than topre stems, although saying that, I have had a higher success rate so far.

Thank you! I was a bit surprised to know that it was powdered.. and now it makes sense why the caps weren't translucent. Will you be making a bacon soon? :)

I have been thinking about bacon along the length of a shift key

Edit: I also have some blue pigment paste but I don't use that. I still find it in all over my room.

The pigment paste gives a very strong colour. Anything it touches goes very blue. There were times where I must have touched some and I have looked down at my HHKB to see it covered in blue finger prints. My trackball still has blue on it.

Isn't it hard to demold the buckling spring keys? The small notches on the stem seems like they'd stick to the mold while removing it!

It can be very hard. But I learnt always use some demoulding stuff. I just use vaseline, as little as possible  and get it in as far as you can. Silicone is very strong so you can stretch it easily. After that it is no trouble. I always have trouble on the first mould.

You are doing some great stuff man!  Super original and fun sculpts... I really like the eggs, what a great idea.  I also like yours stems how they are kinda square for MX.  I was thinking of doing something along those lines but always forget about it after I finish a sculpt.  You are pumping out designs so fast and I have been working on the same one for 2 weeks! You said you are using a paste for pigment?  I have only seen liquid kinds.  I also noticed they all seem pastel, is that because the pigment is pastel or are you using white resin that turns them pastel when it solidifies?  Anyways, keep it up!

The squareish stems look cool but you lose novatouch compatibility and I was thinking with the increase in MX sliders this could be more of a problem.
I kind of have been making a lot so I have designs that don't stick. i'm still working on my toast.
The paste pigment might not be a paste it is this. I would say it is more like a paste as it is very dense and I haven't really seen anything else like it.
The pastel colours are caused by a bit of both. I only have pastel colours but I also use white resin. I like how they turn out :)

I'm also hoping for a bit of a packaging upgrade for this round. Most definitely inspired by your diligence in packaging.

I have been experimeting with making keycaps. I followed KatzenKinder's guide to get started. I have only done blanks as I don't have any pbt caps to spare.

My table has suffered greatly in the process.

I only have blue pigment at the moment, which is why it is such a prominent colour. A little bit of red ink was used, however this made them turn out like wafers.

I haven't encountered many problems. But some caps have turned out mostly bubble.
