Depends. Sometimes they go for crazy money. Both are useful for modding projects, particularly the Terminal ones.

They're real-deal Model F ones, not some plasticky Unicomps. Although it seems that all you need to do to make them PC compatible is swap the cable.

Im pretty sure Kbdbabel has diagrams showing that the old terminal boards have different scancodes. Also, I'm the protocol would be quite different given the parallel vs serial communication methods. Even if the scancodes were the same, you're going to need an adaptor to convert the 15-pin to PS/2 or USB.

well yeah, a cheap adapter would be preferable to paying so much for the AT board itself... more info?

All you need (in theory) is a regular PS/2 cable. This can be connected to the keyboard's controller. When you connect it this way, the keyboard behaves like a 84-key AT keyboard. You need some of the guides that describe the various setup procedures elsewhere. I believe it is more easy to do in Linux than with Windows, but JohnElliot wrote a nice Windows driver anyway.

No, we were talking about the Terminal ones. The XT ones require an active adaptor.

When you speak of this software fix for Linux... Does that require some kind of parallel adaptor?

oh, i thought the terminal ones suffered the same problem, but okay, if i buy a terminal one, i can basically make it work in a few easy steps?
are they pretty close to the one everyone loves?

Theyre probably better in terms of build quality compared with the AT ones.
I'm sure Kishy or John Elliot can talk you through the steps. The latter certainly got his up and running with his PC.

And how easy is it to acquire or make one of these adapters?
